  • Works Great, Solid Powerhouse!
Style: 12500 Watts - Tri-Fuel
I live in Southern California and as of late, with the wind and fires our power gets shut down periodically for days at a time. Finally fed up with losing food, no lights or showers for extended periods of time, I decided to do some research on generators that could run my 4,000 sf home during outages. This Westinghouse kept popping up in my search. Took the leap and purchased it (had it shipped to my Daughter in Oregon because for some unknown reason, it isn’t approved in California) even though it will run on propane and natural gas. She was coming down for Christmas so she loaded it up and brought it to us. Took me all of about 45 minutes to wire it up to back feed my panel through a 220 volt 50 amp auxiliary circuit I have in the garage for charging my wife’s car, and since my electric service is right next to my natural gas meter, I plumbed it in to hook up to the gas line. Well, it didn’t take long before the recent fires had our power shut down for several days. I fired it up and it ran flawlessly for 3 straight days and ran everything in the house including the home heating units. I did disconnect my pool sub panel and did not attempt to run pool pumps, not necessary for a couple days anyway. I tried it with propane as well and it ran just fine. No need for gasoline unless I have my natural gas cut off as well, but I have a backup 5 gallon gas can for emergency. Very impressed with the quality and ease of use and starting options. Super easy, super handy and great piece of mind. The generator comes with both natural gas and propane hoses for simple easy connections. I was out of town when the most recent power outage occurred and my wife was able to easily roll it out of the garage, make the connections and get I going. Time will tell, but I’m loving the piece of mind and uninterrupted power when we need it. Great piece of equipment. I’m a general contractor so I know how to make the electrical connections, I understand most folks should and will need to contact an electrician to set it up, but it’s simple if you watch some YouTube videos and are not afraid to do a little work.. easy DIY. job if inclined. ... show more

  • Good Deal
Style: 12500 Watts - Dual Fuel
Generator arrived as described. Amazon put it in the garage for us, out of the rain. Looks great. Quality looks good, better than the comparatively priced units that I reviewed. Assembly was easy. Moving is easy, with the handle on the light end. I connected ours to our propane piping from inside the house. Fortunately, the manual even gives the required gas pressure. We have a large tank for backup heat, and it was already regulated to the correct pressure at the tank, so I was able to remove the factory included regulator and run right off of our system. I had prior knowledge with gas regulation, so this step was easy. It would be nice if the hose had a removable regulator, but I made do. Generator starter right up and ran great. I have ran it right at max load with no issues. As other reviews have reported, it would be nice if it ran a little quieter, but you have to spend a lot more money to get a quieter one, but this one is certainly worth the price. The main breaker is rated at 38.5amps, so that will be your load limit, even if using the50amp connection, which we are. We’re ready for the next winter storm. ... show more

  • Easy and Powerful
Style: 12500 Watts - Dual Fuel
WGen9500DFc comes with oil, key start, battery and everything needed to get up and running other than fuel and specialty connector cables. It is heavy and isn’t super easy to move but it has a built in handle and wheels to make relocation easier. The ability to use propane and gas makes keeping it fueled easy. A propane tank last approximately 9 hours and gas runs about 12. Used during power outages to run everything in 2,000sqft home including AC and fridge. Also purchased cable to connect to home but outlets on unit provide more than enough power to run anything. Unit also includes auto on plug to connect to your home for sensing outage. I am not able to use it based on my connector but that is a huge bonus. The remote key fob can start and stop the generator without having to go outside making it perfect for part for storm prep. It is noisier than a Honda but is solid and seems like it is built to last. I ordered it on lightening deal so it was priced well below anything comparable but is well worth its standard price based on everything included and output capabilities. ... show more

  • Great buy!
Style: 12500 Watts - Tri-Fuel
This generator is awesome! It was extremely easy to set up and get running. Pop on some wheels, add some oil, and hook up the battery and it is good to run! Did I mention the best part? Remote start operation! Flip the switch and you can remote start it any time! Out of the box 10 minutes to get it running! A little louder than our last generator which was smaller but honestly not to loud! It think this generator is a great bang for your buck! Will update if I find any issues down the road ... show more
