Description

Remember when you had clean and quiet portable power? The WEN 4500-Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generator produces clean energy free of voltage spikes and drops without all of the noise of a regular generator. Generate up to 4500 surge watts and 3500 rated watts of power on gasoline, or connect a propane tank for up to 4500 surge watts and 3150 running watts of power on LPG. Our 212cc 4-stroke air-cooled OHV engine operates at an extremely quiet 58 decibels at quarter load, about as quiet as a window air conditioner or the average conversation. This limits its invasiveness while hunting, camping, tailgating and restoring back-up power. The WEN Watchdog CO Shutdown Sensor helps protect both you and your family by automatically turning off the generator if dangerous levels of carbon monoxide are detected. Our unique Auto Fuel Selection Technology automatically switches between propane and gasoline for longer run times with limited hassle. The keyless electric start provides quick ignition, while the included remote turns your generator on and off from up to 160 feet away, with a recoil starter as backup. The WEN 4500W Inverter Generator is also equipped with fuel shutoff. This feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing the generator to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside of the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unitโ€™s lifespan. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe for laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other vulnerable electronics. The lightweight design along with the built-in wheels and folding handle make for easy portability while the ultra-efficient 2.2-gallon tank provides up to 8.5 hours of half-load run time (or 9 hours half-load run time on a 20-pound LPG tank). Our fully-packed panel comes equipped with two 3-prong 120V standard household receptacles, one RV-ready AC 120V 30A NEMA TT-30R receptacle, one 12V DC receptacle, two 5V USB ports and an easy-to-read digital fuel and load display. Maximize fuel economy by engaging the Eco-Mode switch. This feature allows the generator's engine to automatically adjust its fuel consumption as items are plugged into and unplugged from the panel, preventing the usage of unnecessary gasoline. The oil access cover makes for easy oil changes. Need more energy? Easily link up two WEN inverter generators using a WEN Parallel Connection Kit (sold separately) in order to share wattage between multiple units. Low-oil and low-fuel automatic shutdown, indication lights, and overload protection safeguard both your generator and your electronics from damage. The included spark arrestor allows for legal use in national parks and campgrounds. And because this is a WEN Product, your inverter generator comes backed by a 3-year limited warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians and a friendly customer helpline. Remember when your generator powered your electronics safely and quietly? Remember WEN.

๐Ÿš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

This generator is praised for its exceptional quietness and ability to switch automatically between propane and gas. Users are particularly fond of its electric and remote starters and its sufficient power to service a large camp trailer. However, improvements could be made in relation to weather covers for the outlets and the tires.

Pros

  • ๐Ÿ‘ Great power output
  • ๐Ÿ”Œ Dual fuel (Propane or Gas) with auto switch feature
  • ๐Ÿ”‡ Very quiet
  • ๐Ÿ”œ Electric and remote start
  • ๐Ÿ’ต Good value for the price
  • ๐ŸŽ›๏ธ Runs efficiently with about 50% load with everything running

Cons

  • โŒ Lack of weather covers on outlets
  • ๐Ÿ”˜ Wheels could be improved, specifically by adding rubber tires
  • ๐Ÿ’ง Doesn't come with oil, users suggest synthetic

Should I Buy It?

Given its powerful performance, quiet operation, and useful features such as dual fuel and auto switch, this generator appears to be a worthwhile investment. The minor issues regarding lack of weather covers and wheels improvements do not seem to be significant drawbacks, making it worthy of consideration for anyone in need of a reliable, efficient generator.

  • Amazing and quiet!
I bought 2 of these to parallel for my new 50 trailer. My thought was carrying 2 lighter generators is better than on really heavy one. I can pick these up and load them myself. I am 52 years old and 5'8". My plan is to only use these with propane but if I have to I can do both to run all day and night without filling more than one a day. It has a auto switch from propane to gas without having to switch and restart. I really like that feature. I typically only camp in cooler climates but you never know. I will also use these for power backup due to power outage. The setup and initial oil changes was easy and it comes with everything but the oil and magnetic dipstick. It's highly recommended you use synthetic and the dipstick got a lot of metal shavings out of the engine and should prolong the life now. I did have one issue with a co sensor that was faulty on one, but amazon handled it promptly and with care. These are made with excellent buildmanship. Seem strong and I can move them around easy. Love the remote start! I would highly recommend. ... show more

  • It's great!
The unit is as quiet as my Honda EU2000. It runs my trailers air conditioning perfectly even on ECO mode. On Eco mode running my AC it ran over 11 hours on 5 gallons of propane and my frig was on and cook a few meals on the stove and made a batch of cookies in the oven. The remote start is it must have. Yes it a bit heavy compared to a suit case style but powerful and extremely quiet. Run on great on propane and is surprisingly efficient on its propane consumption. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

  • Great value, great options.
We live off the grid and use both solar and generators for our many electrical needs, as well as propane for heat, fridge, and hot water. So dependable generators are a must. This one has all the bells, whistles, and safety options available. We wanted remote stop and start on this one, and that meant buying a duel fuel option as well. The pros of having a propane back-up is that propane doesn't go bad during storage. The cons of using propane is the enormous consumption and reduced power; it is rated at 20 pounds of propane should last nine hours at half-load. That would get very expensive, very quick. Two gallons of gasoline will give you the same runtime, and do it at approximately ยผ the cost! (But again, gasoline will go bad in storage). The generator actually runs longer on gasoline than the manufacturer states. By far the remote start and stop are truly a blessing, we are in our 60s and having to go out in inclement weather to start or stop the generator is always an adventure and a slip and fall risk going up and down steps. The remote stop function will save you a lot more gas than you might suspect. This series of generators need consistent maintenance for maximum performance. Regular oil level checks and appropriate oil changes โ€” we recommend a full synthetic 5W-30 โ€”, regular air filter cleaning or replacement, and regular spark plug cleaning and adjustment or replacement. We use the NGK sparkplugs and they can be found for approximately $3.50 each if you search Amazon for a multi-pack. Good luck and enjoy! ... show more

  • A workhorse of a generator!
This WEN generator has been reliable and a workhorse at our hunting camp. Never fails so far and is very quiet. The remote control works great and it runs well on propane and gas. Highly recommend. We have been through several different brands and find the WEN brand to be the most reliable.

  • Propane to gasoline switch
The generator failed to switch from propane to gasoline. You have to turn propane off or it just barely runs. I have a problem now where it wonโ€™t run at all. I changed the oil every five days. I live off grid in my little rv trailer. The service from these people is terrible, Iโ€™m in NM and nearest repair center Arizona. The gentleman I was talking to was rude, non caring basically told me I bought the wrong generator, thereโ€™s is only to be used in an emergency, not made to run 24 hours. He was totally disrespectful. The generator is only for emergency, they just donโ€™t tell you that when you purchase the generator. Run donโ€™t Easter your money like I did. ... show more
