  • High quality grill
Style: Grill
Really solid grill, quality materials, heats evenly, excellent cooking tool. Assembly takes some time, but the instructions are excellent. And EVERYTHING FITS EXACTLY RIGHT. A testament to excellent design and quality manufacturing. Parts are packaged into small logical groups and clearly labeled. Propane tank scale is a very handy feature. I got the Spirit Instead of the Spirit 2 because I prefer the cabinet doors (that hide the propane tank and whatever else I store there) over the open cart. (Personal preference, but worth the $ to me.) Electronic igniter works perfectly. Battery change is easy. Cooked filet mignons as first meal to celebrate the new grill, they were perfect. if you’ve never used a cheap gas grill, you might not appreciate how good this grill is. Cheap grills do NOT cook evenly (you spend the entire cooking time trying to rearrange food on the grill so it all cooks at about the same speed), and the grease flare-ups are awful. And the igniter stops working after a month and never works again. Unless you’re buying a grill for someone you hate, buy a Weber Spirit (or Weber Genesis if you need bigger grill for more people). I’ve bought other Weber grills over the years , will buy more in the future, gladly recommend to others. ... show more

  • I feel that I've finally grown up -- a WEBER grill is awesome
Style: Grill
I can't say enough good things about my experience, thus far, with my Weber Spirit E310 LP grill. To list just a few: 1. Shipping was very fast ... arrived on my doorstep in about 36 hours from ordering 2. The boxing/packaging is a work of industrial art. VERY sturdily packaged and organized. 3. ALL parts of the grill are very sturdily made ... from the casters to the thermometer, you can feel how much better quality this is than the $199 box-store specials. 4. The hardware too is top-dollar stuff; all stainless and very beefy for the purpose 5. Even the dual-color knobs are really study and very attractive. I don't think I've ever admired a knob before. 6. The assembly instructions (all pictures; no words) were clear enough ... tho' as with most instructions, could use just a few improvements. 7. Once assembled and tested, it works FABULOUSLY. Quick to light; quick to heat, very even and controllable temps, can dial down to a nice low and consistent heat for slow-cooking. While awaiting the shipment, I watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to assemble it, which were a big help to prepare for the assembly. One tip that I followed is to make sure to remove all of the small boxes of stuff from inside the cover while it's still in the big shipping box ... will save your back. There are a lot of machine screws to screw in, so I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you use a good quality power screwdriver. There will be a torque setting that you should adjust to "good and tight" but not "way too tight" that you'll risk stripping them. On my Wilwaukee brand power screwdriver, that was 12 out of 14. By watching (and re-watching) the assembly videos up-front, unboxing and organizing the parts on the patio, and using the power screwdriver, I swear that I had this thing fully assembled in under 30 minutes. (The LP install and leak test took another ten.) So far, I have TONS of wonderful things to say about this top-quality grill, and only two VERY MINOR suggestions for "further improvement": 1. As others have noted, I wish that the side tables were fold-down. Or at least one of them. I'd pay $20-ish extra for fold-town side tables. 2. The BBQ bottom body ought to have pre-drilled holes for mounting the rotisserie attachment motor on the left as well as right side. As it comes from the factory, the rotisserie motor mounts on the right side only. I've bought at least five "box store" grills over my lifetime. By no means the cheapest $99 types, but pretty good, "higher end" ones in the $200-$300 range. And all five were in the trash within three or four years ... mostly due to heavy rusting of too-thin sheet metal used, due to heat and the salty Florida air. I finally sprung for this $500 Weber grill and see that it is WELL worth the extra cost. The cook area is all heavy cast aluminum that should last indefinitely. And I believe that every part is individually replaceable should rust eventually form. Hopefully this will turn out to be a ten-year grill, or more. BTW, I also bought the Weber 7105 Grill Cover, the Weber 7614 Spirit 200/300 Series Rotisserie, and the Grill Light By Knight BBQ light. Each work well, and I've reviewed them separately. ... show more

  • Very Well Engineered - UPDATE
Style: Grill
The night it arrived I unpacked it, did an inventory check, and "read" the instructions front to back. The instructions are a lot like a LEGO set: mostly pictures and arrows that are actually very accurate representations of the parts. (Unlike the $200 grills I've bought at Wal-Mart and Lowes Depot. Everyone knows they can't translate Engrish, but who would have thought they could actually misinterpret a drawing so badly?) Anyway, the second night it went together without a hitch in about an hour and a half. What a solid beauty. The heavy and solid iron grilling surface is large enough to cook for 6-10 people, and the fire box has almost no holes where heat can escape. Every piece is either stainless steel or coated with a serious thickness of ceramic paint that is very tough. Someone would have to abuse it badly to make it rust (although I probably still wouldn't leave it at the beach year round...) I'll update with a cooking review after it is broken in with burgers, steaks, ribs and roasts. Getting a solid smoke solution other than foil smoker pouches laying on top of the flame deflectors on cheap grills will be nice. I'm thinking a smoker box under the burners on the drip pan will work... UPDATE: This thing heats up to 550 in ten minutes lust like others have said. The cast iron grates have wide bars with a lot of surface area and steaks sear beautifully every time. Got a cast iron smoker box from Lowes Depot for about $15 that is only about an inch tall and it sits on top of the "flavorizer" bars under the cast iron grates perfectly. Smoke makes everything taste better -especially the three full racks of baby back ribs I indirectly grilled last weekend. After the grill warmed up with all burners on high and the wood chips started smoking I turned two of the three burners completely off and one end burner kept the grill at 325 degrees consistently for 4+ hours! I moved and mopped the ribs every hour and had to crank up the middle burner to get it back up to temp quickly (3-5 min.) but once there just the left burner took over like a champ. This is the best grill I've ever owned. I did not have an issue mounting my propane tank to the gas level indicator like another reviewer. It may be the type of tank he had. Mine is from Costco and it came with its own internal fuel gauge and the two seem to agree so I'm very happy with Weber's gas level indicator. The drip pan and collection system is also impressive. All juice and debris goes right where it is supposed to and using a scraper to clean it out and push all the waste through the hole into the disposable aluminum pan makes this one of the easiest grills to clean I have ever used. ... show more
