The media could not be loaded. If you have a bigger basement, this unit is perfect. It does not make very much noise and doesn't take up too much space for a commercial unit. It works perfectly and reduces the humidity level pretty quickly. I also love the pump feature to get rid of the water.

The media could not be loaded. This de-hu is a boss. It took 2,000 sq ft basement and corresponding upper level of house from around 60% humidity to 37% humidity in less than 3 days. After reaching the set point, it started cycling the compressor on and off as per the specs. Note from the pics two things: install the pump drain tube as shown, making sure of a good seal with at least 1/2 inch overlap - and you must insure the filter medium is correctly installed over the aluminum cooling fins to properly filter out the dust. You will have to flex the filter slightly to get it into the guides properly. The main selling point of this machine for me was the 5 year warranty on the compressor. I've had trouble with other de-hu's losing water sucking ability at about the 3 year mark. All in all, a good purchase for the money for a larger area. ... show more

We purchased the Waykar 130 pint model 8/2020, it was able to keep my finished basement dry and at 42% and best of all it doesn’t have the musty smell while running.. The unit is made well and sturdy, very easy to move around and to empty the tank. At the 4 year mark of owning our dehumidifier we encountered an electrical issue and our model said it has a 5 yr warranty to I contacted customer service and we concluded that a replacement was needed. My exact model is no longer available so we will be getting a different replacement sent to us so stay tuned and we will let you know how the new dehumidifier works… ... show more

I purchased and returned a few other dehumidifiers that claimed to work in 1000 SQ ft. This is the only one that worked so far. It's been running non stop this summer and keeping a humid basement and helping the main floor to stay in the low humidity level of 50s. The basement temperature is usually averaging at low to mid 70° F. That is an improvement! Last summer was a nightmare with high humidity levels and temperature throughout the entire non air conditioned house. The paint was coming off the walls and sticking to anything that was pushing up against it (shower curtain tension rod and my exercise machine leaning on the wall). It took three days for hanging cotton laundry to dry! The smell....oh that was hard to deal with! Like an old vacant house! I was in a battle I felt I couldn't beat. We just moved here. This upstate NY house had air gaps around the old basement windows and even main floor windows. I installed some tight fitting plexi glass in the basement window frames and set this up and feels like a miracle took place both in the basement and main floor! AC units have also been purchased for main floor comfort but that's another completely different review. This unit is large but on wheels so it is easy to move about. I wouldn't trust the smaller ones based on my experience. The drain hose feature makes it a no hassle appliance. No need to empty the bucket. I ignore it for the most part. I probably checked on it a handful of times so far since the springtime moreso when I first plugged it in. I hear it turning on and off when I am above the basement but near the door. It's not loud as I have to go to a certain area upstairs near the door to hear it. The minute I walk away from that area I can not hear it. I also can't hear it directly over it on the floor above it. Maybe if I put my ear to the floor with the TV and AC off? I will turn it off in the fall and let it rest up as the basement will be very dry from that time to spring. I absolutely love this unit and would buy again if the price is still reasonable. If you have a decent sealed in basement that already stays cooler during the summer humid months (as my previous house was) one of those other units might be good enough? This unit is for an area that truly needs assistance. This house is over one hundred years old and definitely needs help. UPDATE: This dehumidifier worked for a total of 12 months. It was turned off during the winter. The summer of 2024 this unit didn't work properly. Contacted Waykar Customer Service and determined it needed refrigerant. Because it was over a year, nothing can be done They are not reliable with a promise they made I will refer to it as a free "replacement," it never happened. Not sure if I want to buy another disposable dehumidifier. Will try another brand. ... show more
