    • Underpowered and sensor not accurate.

*Update* Customer service has been amazing. They reached out a few weeks after the below review (I did not reach out to them). They offered to send me a larger machine as well as talked me through how the sensor should work and its margin of error. The larger unit is fabulous and works great for my space. I understand that these units are all rated under a certain use case but I do think the smaller unit, while a great value is a bit weak. So, I would suggest Ordering a size or two up from what you think you need. That said, unit is extremely quiet and using much less electricity then my previous 70 pint Kenmore. ****************** I bought the 2,000sqft / 34 pint unit as the space I was putting it in is just over 400sqft (I was replacing an older/larger 70 pint Kenmore unit). This unit is severely undersized or over rated. It’s been running nonstop and while it is bringing the humidity down it can’t seem to reach the target humidity (45) for days. Also, the sensor within the machine doesn’t work correctly. I have a humidity sensor as well as my old dehumidifier that are both reading a humidity of 10rh below what this unit is reading. Very disappointed as this seemed like a great value and the reviews were generally positive. ... show more

I purchased my Waykar 150 Pints, Energy Star, 7000Sq. Ft. Dehumidifier (JD026CE-150) for my 1500 Sq. Ft. basement from Amazon on September 17, 2023. The unit was sold directly by Amazon and arrived in great condition with my free Prime delivery. After it arrived, I immediately set up the unit with a direct drain to my sump pump using gravity drainage (no pump needed). I never had to empty the bucket. When I started the dehumidifier, the basement humidity was almost at 80% so set the unit to run continuously until the air reached 55% humidity. Within a day or so the basement humidity had fallen to that level. The unit shuts off automatically. The Waykar dehumidifier was quality made, quiet, energy efficient, and easily programed and operated. On June 28, 2024, I noticed the unit was blowing cold air and no longer dehumidifying the air. It wasn't creating any water. The basement humidity levels were climbing as a result. I called Waykar Customer Service Warranty Support and worked with Penny who is a very friendly and helpful customer service representative. She gathered all the information and helped me through the steps to verify the unit was no longer working. I needed a new unit and they shipped it to me very quickly. I returned the old unit with a shipping label they provided. Waykar is a reputable company that produces a high quality, well performing line of dehumidifiers.
