I needed a water storage container for camping and thought I'd give this one a try. The things I like include the large opening that makes for easy cleaning and the translucent tank which allows for visibility of content level. The main thing I don't like is how the ball valve sticks out so much further than other tanks. It's begging to get ripped off whether loading/unloading or using. Things that stick out tend to get broken. I prefer the short, spigot type. With that said, the 1/4 turn ball valve is very controllable and nice to use. At the upper part of the face of the tank on the outlet side, there is a threaded nipple that is sealed. Beneath the big red, threaded cap on top of the tank, there is a plastic pan that inserts into the top to keep the top sealed. I was concerned that with no place for air to enter, that the tank wouldn't allow a good flow. I filled the tank to the brim, installed the top seal, and screwed on the big red cap to see what would happen. I opened the ball valve all the way and amazingly, there was no glugging or choking of the flow from vacuum. It worked great. Honestly I was shocked. Finally, I was not initially impressed with the attachment of the handles with the 1/4 nylon pin. This tank holds over 50 lbs of water. With the tank completely full, I moved the tank to several locations walking with it. It actually seems adequate to hold the load. Besides, you really don't want to carry that full any farther than necessary. I like the tank and plan to use it for our camping water next weekend. ... show more

This is a nice heavy duty 6.6 gallon water storage tank. It has a faucet you have to assemble but even comes with teflon tape to seal it up so there are no leaks in the fitting. The faucet seems to work well. I love that there are 2 handles on it. One in the front and one in the back to make it much easier to carry once it is full. The plastic is pretty heavy duty. The other great feature is the large cap for filling. It makes it easy to fill in the bathtub. It also makes it easy to clean. This has been a life saver for my daughter as she lives in Asheville and was without water for over 3 weeks. This made it much easier to get filled and just set on the counter beside the sink and have water do do life's simple tasks we all take for granted besides drinking. This has worked great and I would highly recommend it. ... show more

I recently got the 6.6-gallon water storage container for a camping trip at Padre Island, so I’ve put it through its paces to see how it holds up. The 6.6-gallon size works well for a couple of days of camping for two people. It’s not too bulky, so I can carry it when full without too much struggle. The built-in handle helps with carrying, though it's still on the heavier side when it’s full. The build quality is solid; the plastic feels thick and durable. It’s sturdy enough to handle some bumps and scrapes when moving it around in my SUV. I haven’t noticed any cracks or leaks, even after some rough handling. Its compact design makes it easy to fit into tight spots in the back of the car. The faucet is a simple twist mechanism, and it functions well. I was initially concerned it might leak, but so far, I haven’t seen any drips. It’s useful for controlling the water flow, especially when trying to conserve water on longer trips. However, the faucet is made of plastic, so I’m careful when using it to avoid any damage. The large opening is convenient for filling and allows me to fit a small brush inside for cleaning after trips. This makes it easier to maintain, which is important since water containers need regular cleaning. The cap seals tightly, so I haven't had any spills while driving over uneven terrain. This water jug is great. It has a carrying handle on the top which becomes the front when it's laid down to dispense water. The fill opening is absolutely huge which is especially important because it makes it easy to clean and dry. It comes with a special fill hose as well as a spigot. The spigot is very large, and water will come out quite fast. It looks like there is a vent at the top, but it is completely sealed. If you puncture a hole in it to vent (for a smoother flow) you will need to cap it with something. A cap is not included. The included hose can be used to direct the water into a different vessel. The fill hose comes with a quick disconnect fitting. The capacity is large enough to be useful, without being too heavy when full. ... show more

This is just what I was looking for to add to my Prepping supplies! I have larger containers, even hundreds of gallons in an outside Water Container, however, in reality this type of container is the most practical as far as everyday use.
