Ok I have purchased 3 of these. 2 of the 32 oz and 1 smaller sized 22 oz bottle. Why did I buy 3 of these? The reviews. And I'm a sucker for the really pretty packaging. I love the colors and that they come with extra lids. But my my love of ironflask stops there. I have read all these reviews that are really glowing. Durability - check. Holds ice - check Lids that don't leak - check. Well I expected those results. I didn't have that experience. I need a water bottle that is not too heavy yet will hold ice overnight in 80 weather. Then refilled and sit in 80 to 100 heat. Plus the bottles need to hold up to drops and tumbles from kids and the outdoors. Iron flask is not performing like I expected it to. They are gorgeous. I own 2 pearls in 32 oz / 22 oz and 1 ocean in 32 oz. None of these 3 hold ice past 5 hours. I see less than 2 cubes after 5 hours. Performance - nope The lids leaked. I constantly find droplets where are rolling around. Hold ice all day - nope Yet I'm reading how people are using ironflask on cruises in the carribean and they hold ice all day for them. Not my experience. Disneyworld in April and a cruise in March - nope didn't hold ice for me. Durability- nope. My bottles have scratches and dents. Lots of dents Yes they are lightweight and beautiful, but I need it hold ice all night or all day and hold up to being knocked over and being dropped without leaking or denting and scratching My 3 ironflask bottles have failed me. In my area humidity/heat and rolling off outdoor furniture and falling over outdoors - they have leaked and scratched. I will stick to the heavy bottles that are double walled insulated. Other brands do not scratch or dent and they hold ice for days. Small cubes of ice for days. 3 days I still had ice To the point they they are a chunk of solid ice and needed hot water to be removed from the container. I'm staying away from the pretty packaging of Ironflask and settling for the double walled/insulated water bottles in drab boring textured prints - on bottles that weigh a ton when filled. ... show more

    • Sturdy and keeps cold drinks cold

We use these when we go kayaking and cycling (requires and extra large water bottle bracket). They keep our water ice cold. Love that they come with several lid and straw options. That choice makes them easier to use in different situations. They are on the heavy side, so we probably wouldn't carry them hiking, but when we aren't carrying their weight they are awesome. Since we carry only water in them, they are very easy to clean. Made of food safe steel, I'd guess anything would wash off, though. They are very durable... my husband has dropkicked his across the boat ramp while unloading the kayaks, and it has only cosmetic damage. They are a little on the pricey side, but I'm guessing they will last years, so cost is relative. To me, durability and convenience of use (cap choices) make them worth it. ... show more

Love my iron flask. I take to work with ice, cold water throughout the day, even when in direct heat of sun. Downside, the outer gets hot to the touch. Comes with different mouth pieces, straw or mouth spout. Beautiful coloring, I get compliments wherever I go.

Love the color (I got a burnt orange-ish color) and the sturdiness. Keeps fuids very cold for a long time. I've left ice in there for upwards of two days at one time. Even after it melted the water was still crisp and cold! Has interchangable lids and whatnot which makes it versatile as well. I'd pay a max of $25 for one of these guys. Maybe $30! ... show more

    • It's ok. But missed the mark in some areas

***Update*** I finally had enough and switched the straw cap to the solid cap. Went to take a drink this morning and noticed something black floating in it. The cap was flaking. Threw it out. Drink at own risk. I have gone through a decent amount of bottles looking for the "perfect" gym bottle and I can say after using this for a few months that I'm still looking for it. So let's get into it: Bottle: The body of the bottle is phenomenal. Rugged, hard, great powder-coat feel that doesn't feel like it'll slip out of your hand. No plastic feel to it. Just cold metal. Holds cold temp very well (haven't tried anything hot). No sweat on the outside no matter how much ice I put in it. It's been dropped a few times but the coating has yet to flake or crack which is also a plus. Tops: I've only cared for one top and that the one with the drinking straw. Bottom line; It's ok. Does it deliver the liquid? Yes and no. You can take a drink, a drink and another drink. The fourth time you go to take a drink it feels like you're trying to drink a Wendy's frosty (You know what I mean). Somehow this thing created a vapor lock and no matter how hard you pull you can't get a drink. I have to unscrew the top, take a drink and hope it fixed itself. 50/50 if it works or not. The straw: It's a straight one with no slant cut or extended bend so if you're one of those that likes to tip back the bottle as you drink you'll be sucking air depending on how much water is left. A little annoying since we don't drink water like giraffes. Lastly: One more thing about bottle body. It's heavy, has some good weight to it. Good for being stable on a table bad if you're trying to judge how much water you have left. I find many times I grab the bottle thinking it's got a good amount in it only to find in 2-3 sips I'm sucking air. Yeah my fault for not checking but after years of using water bottles the weight of it usually tells me how much is left. If this bottle didn't give me drinking problems (vapor locking) I would give it a 5 star even with the other gripes because those are just from my shortcomings. It could just be my bottle but that's the only one I have to review so I have to put it in there. ... show more
