  • After one trip - absolutely amazing
The media could not be loaded. After testing if it works at all at home I took it out camping without testing it before in outdoor conditions (silly thing to do, but clean water could be store bought on that trip so I risked it). Luckily for me, this thing turned out to be the best water filtering solution I've ever tested. 4 stars for ease of use, because you have to assemble the hoses, flush it back after use (seems like a smart thing to do) and disassemble after filtering, which is not bad at all, but takes a minute. Our water source was okay-ish, but not crystal clear, there was definitely green organic matter flowing out during the backflush after the filtering session. We've been filtering at least 12 liters a day (6L per session) for 6 days straight, without any issues or interventions aside from changing the output container. All on one set of 2xAA batteries that are still good. Zero hassle compared to gravity filters, works very quietly and decently fast - a bliss to use. The bag that comes with the filter fits all parts and everything necessary for maintenance + some batteries which is nice. Taste is perfect. Honestly tastes better than some tap water. The biggest issue I have with the filter is the placement of the power button. I go moto camping and I pack the filter bag into long drybags where stuff basically lies on top of one another, that way I had the filter turn on on me once - fortunately when I was packing it so I noticed immediately and turned it off. So the solution is to take one of the batteries out for packing - and leave one in, so the door snaps on securely. This is not convenient at all and the battery door material does not seem like the toughest plastic, so I don't know how long it will last. For now it's good. ... show more

  • Convenient, easy, and portable
I bought this a while back for backpacking/camping and emergency situations. I haven’t taken it on any outdoor activities yet but, twice we had an emergency water boil order so this filtration system came in very handy. I plug it into a power bank instead of an USB outlet not did I install any batteries just so I can see how much power it would drain from a power pack. I was able to fill up a 2 gallon Igloo water jug within approximately 15 minutes and it barely used stored power from the bank. Obviously it was tap water so there wouldn’t be any clarity issues but, the water tasted just fine. I was so impressed with the performance of this power operated filtration system I also bought the Survivor Pro manual pump one. Compared to other high end brands, the Survivor Pro X and Pro is little bigger but, not so heavy that it would be a burden if you were going to ruck it into the woods. I have several other brand filtration systems for backpacking so I can attest that it’s not bad at all. The Pro X is now my home emergency water filtration and the Pro will be for camping and backpacking. They are much more affordable and pretty easy to maintain as long as you keep extra filters available and handy. Just make sure it is cleaned and completely dried before storing it after using it. ... show more

  • Works Great! Easy to Use! USB Power or Battery!
This Survivor Filter Electric Pro X Water Filtration System is very easy to setup and use and it works great. It has two hoses, one for input and one for output, has an ON-OFF push button on top, and the best part is it's ELECTRIC, so no hand pumping! The electric feature is what convinced us to buy, and also the option of USB or battery power, plus the triple filtration process, the supplier test report with positive results, and the many high reviews from other users. We have this Survivor Filter setup permanently on our kitchen counter for our home drinking water, powered via USB wall plug, see PHOTO. We fill a large clear plastic pitcher with water from our home well system and use this Survivor Filter to pump it out, filter it, and pump the resulting filtered water into a large 3 gallon water dispenser that has a spout. Then clean filtered water is always available at any time via the large dispenser water spout. We use the Survivor Filter every day, 365 days per year, so it's always in constant use. The amount of well water in the pitcher takes about 4 minutes to be filtered and pumped into the large water dispenser and the dispenser holds about 7 pitchers (about 3 gallons). We typically use 4-5 pitchers worth of filtered water per day and each evening we refill the water dispenser, which takes less than 20 minutes or so. For refilling the 3 gallon water dispenser, we purchased a small easy to use battery operated digital timer that beeps continuously after 4 minutes, alerting us that the pitcher is almost empty. Then we turn off the Survivor Filter Pro and refill the pitcher to repeat this process until the 3 gallon water dispenser is full again. We also always take this Survivor Filter with us whenever we go on trips in our RV travel trailer just in case we ever need it. We also purchased the Survivor Filter hand pump model too, as a backup in case this electric unit ever goes out during an emergency situation where electricity, batteries, or USB power are not available. In conclusion we're very happy with this product and do recommend it to others. UPDATE FEBRUARY 2025 We've had our Survivor Filter almost 5 years now (purchased March 2020), and we've used it every day for about 1/2 hour 365 days per year. Recently the internal pump began making a knocking noise, no doubt due to all the use we've put it through. It was working okay during the pump knocking noise, but we knew it would eventually give up the ghost. But we also knew that the Survivor Filter has a lifetime warranty, so we contacted them and filed a warranty claim, easy and quick to do. The very next day we received a response that a brand new same model Survivor Filter was being shipped to us, all at no cost to us, which was received in just a few days. Wow, now that is what's known as GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! Yeah we really like our Survivor Filter Pro X Electric! ... show more

  • Water filter for travel
I like the size, but the way I needed to use it caused the hoses to bend/kink. The flow rate is fine, unless hose kinks. I think for what I’m doing—rving—I need something else without hoses. The seller was very accommodating to my issue and gave a refund.
