First, the good: Super large, easy to read, date, time & temperature all in one. It can stand on its own two (fold out) legs or be mounted on a wall. (Note: it takes 4 AA batteries, so don’t mount it too high or you’ll be hauling out a ladder every time you need to change them!) You can set it to show the time in 12 or 24 hour format, the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit and you can display the day only, temp only or set it to alternate between day and temp every 10 seconds. It can be set to auto-adjust for Daylight Savings Time as well. Second, the not-so-good: The product description states there are three light settings – OFF-LOW-HIGH but mine only displays the light OFF or ON. There is an alarm function but it can only be set from the back of the unit (hard to use if wall mounted). In addition, you cannot keep the backlight on for more than a few seconds and the switch to turn it on is also inconveniently located on the back of the clock. Since I got this for my brightly lit workshop this is not a problem for me but it might be for others. Average TV remote shown for size. ... show more

The first thing I noticed about this clock when I got it was just how big the display is. The 4 inch numbers are super easy to read even from the other side of my house. Another thing I liked was just how easy it was to set up. There is just one button on top to scroll through all the settings and then you use the two buttons below to either increase or decrease the numbers. I pretty much had it all set up in less than 5 min. With just the push of a button, the clock can be set to show either the temperature or day of the week (the time and date are always displayed) or alternate between these two every 10 sec. The automatic Daylight Savings Time adjustment is another feature that shows that a lot of thought was put into the design. I used the built-in stand to prop up the clock on a shelf instead of hanging it (the clock has a bit of heft to it so you probably do want to use the included kit if you want to hang the clock) Another nice feature of this clock is the back light. You have the option of having it off and only lit when you push a button (conveniently the bottom-most button) or have it automatically turn on the backlight either at a low or high level (this is set with a switch inside the battery compartment) when the room gets dark. To conserve the batteries ( you need 4 AA batteries) I chose the low setting which is fine. Only time will tell how long the clock will run on this set of batteries and no doubt having the automatic backlight will shorten the battery life. I should note that the instructions specifically say that you SHOULD NOT use rechargeable batteries in this clock. The feature of the clock that left something to be desired was the alarm. On one hand, it is very easy to set the alarm (same process as setting time except you scroll through using the SET ALARM button) and the alarm is loud and becomes more urgent if you don't turn it off (you just press SET ALARM button) That said there is no snooze feature and honestly, you just don't need a clock this big within arm's reach on your nightstand. I received the product earlier today, and it has already made a fantastic impression on me and my family. Its expansive 14.5-inch display is easily readable from across the room, showing the time, temperature, and date, which adds a practical element. The automatic adjustment for Daylight Saving Time is a feature I greatly appreciate, as it spares me the trouble of manual resets or remembering when to set the clocks forward and backward. Additionally, the backlight ensures clear visibility under lighting conditions, making it suitable for daytime and nighttime use. This device operates cordlessly and requires only four AA batteries. While I can't yet comment on the battery life under normal usage, having a stock of AA batteries means this won't pose a problem for me. The battery operation is beneficial as it allows greater placement flexibility without needing to be near electrical outlets. Using the backlight might shorten the battery life somewhat, but that's to be expected. Setting up the clock was straightforward—the buttons on the back were easy to navigate. You hold the setup button until the display flashes, then begin setting your date and time. The day of the week is automatically generated based on the calendar date setup, and there's an option to alternate the temperature display with the day of the week if desired. Thanks to its large size, you can place this clock further away in almost any room without concern. It can be hung on the wall or set on a surface using the extendable feet for stability. I am thoroughly pleased with everything about this clock and hope the next version will include long-lasting rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. This product is excellent for anyone, particularly those who prefer more significant numbers and letters. It would also make a great gift for seniors.
