It stays in place doesn't move around while walking on it. Not too heavy to move it around. Small inclination helps as well with walks. You can adjust for running, and its quite challenging on highest level. I wanted to give this walking pad 5 stars, but I do have a small complaint. When you power down, the walking pad will go down until hitting 0.6 miles and then just suddenly stop. Yanks you forward a bit. It would be nicer if it went all the way down to 0.0 to avoid the jerk. Walking pad is great sized, the incline adds the extra 'oomph' to my walk and the large display makes it easy to read.
