Top Amazon Reviews

  • Good Quality Dinning Table that is not too pricey
Style Name: Dining Set
Before I start the review let me clarify that I am talking about '6-Piece Solid Wood Dining Set, Dark Oak' dinning table. The one with leafs at the end of the table that needs to be store else where when not in use. Why I make this clarification is, the way Amazon has set up this detail page, it has 3 different table models. They are completely different in design. Ideally they should have their own detail pages. By having all three tables listed as sort of just a variation in color has led to having the reviews all mixed up, Customer Q&As all mixed up. I have reported this to Amazon. For example, I asked the question where will the end leafs be stored when not in use. I got three different answers. All who answered were telling the right thing except that they were referring to one of the three different designs. Not that being clarified, let me get into the details of the product itself, which is, '6-Piece Solid Wood Dining Set, Dark Oak' I took the leap of faith to buy this expensive table from Amazon. The package arrived in three huge packages. In fact UPS messed up the delivery by initially delivering only two of the three packages (chairs and bench). They came around later in the afternoon to delivery the third package, the Table, biggest and heaviest of the three packages.Even though the exterior of the packages looked beaten up, the contents inside were well protected with Styrofoam. So no damages, not at least from the transportation. Table: It had 22 different wooden pieces, many of which had 2 to 4 units, some even over 6. I laid them all on the floor and took the count first to make sure all the pieces where available. The instructions were straight forward. Few things to note while putting this together. - The amount of glue they provide is NOT sufficient if you want a good tight fit - They say not to use power tools. They probably say this because if you are not careful you could damage the furniture. But without power tool to screw things in YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE FEW WEEKS to put this together. - There are no pre-holes drilled on to the pieces that another piece attaches to. Which means if you do not have a power drill you are either going to needs good muscles and a good set of screwdrivers. - The fit on the screws for corner wedges is not great. Have to be very careful doing this because it impacts the overall sturdiness of the table While putting this table together, there were may points where the fits where not really tight and I was doubtful about the overall quality and strength of the table. Especially when you are attaching the bottom crossbar with the four main legs. But once you attach it to the table top everything feels a lot more sturdy. One of the leafs did not have marking on where some of the pieces screw on to. But it was a small thing and very easy to figure out. ATTENTION: The number of screws and other hardware are exact count of what is required. So don't misplace or lose any I shall update this review after I put together the Chairs and the bench Update: Setting up the bench and chairs were soooooooo much easier after the marathon work on the table. It took about 15 minutes per chair and 20 minutes for the bench. For the chairs underneath the seat piece I noticed two pre-drilled holes. But they are not for any use. I wonder what they are for ... show more

  • Great Bench
Style Name: Bench
We needed a bench for our dinning room table and this was bench was perfect. We initially purchased one bench to replace two our dinning room chair. Loved it so much, that we purchased a second one. Super study. Easy to clean up messes and all the kiddos can sit together which eliminates the fighting. ... show more

  • Ummm, I can't exactly recommend it
Style Name: Dining Set
I have to give it 4 stars because I really do like it. I think it's very pretty and is certainly an impressive table. The quality is not outstanding, but exceeds the quality of any tables I've seen in furniture stores that cost twice as much. Though, that may depend on how carefully you put it together. This is not your typical prefab furniture, it is held together with screws and glue and a really well designed support system. The chairs are especially nice. They're very solid, comfortable, and look better than ANY chairs I've seen for sale since I've been looking. All in all, it's a pretty great table! ... and that's where the praise stops. It was an absolute nightmare to put together. You sincerely have no idea what you're in for from the looks of it! It's strange because I praise it for using "real" hardware like screws and woodglue, but that's part of what makes it a pain to put together. There are hundreds (several hundreds) of screws! THAT IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION. The funny part is that the instructions tell you not to use any power tools. The funnier part is that I complied and did more than half of them by hand before I finally pulled out a drill. Some of the other reviews claim that it takes about 3 hours to put together, but I frankly can't believe that. It would take an hour to open the 4 boxes and lay out all of the pieces! I undertand that I work a little slowly, I was working on it by myself, and I was working on it in a less than ideal environment, but I can't be that far off. I spent 4 hours putting the chairs and bench together, and wasn't phased because I thought those would be the worst part. They weren't. The table itself was soooo much worse. I couldn't believe how many pieces were required under the table surface to act as strengthening and support. I work slowly and surely, but there's no freaking way someone can put this thing together in 3-4 hours. To date, I've spent at least 10-12 hours and I'm not quite done yet. I'm not done yet because when I was nearing the end, I discovered that I was missing pieces. This is not uncommon from what I can tell in reading the reviews, but no less frustrating. The good news is that the manufacturer seems to have very good customer service. They replied promptly to my claim and are in the process of sending out the necessary pieces. There also was a defective piece on one of the chairs, and they're replacing that too. I'm certain that I will never order another large table like this online ever again. I think I'll just pay the extra money to have one that's fully assembled already. However, since I already have it, I must admit that I'm pretty happy with it and it is a 5 star table. (-0.5 stars for being a nightmare to put together, -0.5 stars for having to wait for replacement pieces). ... show more

Perfect for large gatherings for dinner. Fits 3 people comfortably.

  • Sturdy, but be careful screwing together
Style Name: Dining Table
Overall it's a pretty good table for what it is. I was a bit worried about buying the MDF because it's kind of like glorified particle board. I think this is the nicest cheap table you can buy. The leaves aren't very sturdy so we're going to leave them off unless we need them. When screwing together make sure not to over tighten or the hole will strip out. I had a couple do this where I just put a bit of a longer screw and seemed to hold just fine. Overall it's pretty good. Not worth returning but I'll probably stay away from something like this next time and just go for hard wood and spend the extra $$$. Nice table if you can't tho. ... show more

  • It's not brown...it's very red.
Style Name: Bench
We'll keep it because it's the right size and close enough to the right style but I'll end up painting it. It's not brown. Much more like red cherry wood.

  • Good Quality. Unnecessary fake markings.
Style Name: Dining Set
Solid Wood. Beautiful set. There are some fake, styled-in wear-n-tear markings that are completely unnecessary. I appreciate that the manufacturer is going for the 'pre-ripped jeans' look with this dining table and chairs, but not really needed and a bit cartoonish. Shouldn't be a deal breaker for buying though. The quality:cost ratio is great! ... show more
