This fireplace is perfect. I didn't want to spend a ton because I live in south florida and who needs a fireplace in florida. I got it for the ambiance. The size is perfect with 4 slots for different books and decorations. The color is beautiful and the fireplace itself you can turn on the fire part and the heat part separately which is nice. Its not super tall which i like so it doesnt over power the room just gives it a beautiful bonus to the decor. It was easy to put together maybe took me an hr and a half. I did most of it by myself and then needed my husband towards the end. The quality is amazing and very sturdy. I would HIGHLY recommend this fireplace ... show more

I don't usually write very many reviews, but I felt compelled to write one for this product because of the great experience I had. First of all, the price is amazing for what you get. This stand is on par with many of the more expensive name brand ones you see in furniture stores. The stand arrived very well packaged in its box with no damage. All parts, including hardware, were included (I counted them) with spares. As others have stated in reviews, the instructions were very detailed and made putting this together very simple. I am by no means a handyman; however, my girlfriend and I put this together pretty seamlessly in just under two hours. This included about 20 minutes of identifying and correcting a few pieces we assembled incorrectly (while the instructions are great, there was one step that was a little confusing). Completely assembled, the stand is extremely sturdy and looks fantastic. I appreciate the small touches they made, such as the black cardboard that goes behind the shelves aren't just nailed or glued on like other stands. For this stand the actual wood has grooves built into them that the backings slide into perfectly. They also provide you with brackets to install on the outside of the backing to provide even more security if you so choose. So first, I saw the horror stories of broken parts, and other problems people had when they purchased this. I feel for them I really do, but I was fortunate enough that my item was in perfect condition, and all parts, ( plus some extras in a extras bag) were all there. One thing everyone's been right on, this is not that easy to assemble, and one or two of the screw holes were a bit wonky. If it weren't for two of us doing it, I'm not sure it would have taken a reasonable time to put it together. Also.. go buy Gorilla Glue ( wood or all purpose ), and make sure to glue all the dowels ( on both sides ). As to the actual functionality, this works great. It sits in front of our wood fireplace ( which we can't use due to chimney problems ). The fireplace insert looks good, and the heater works well, but isn't overly loud. It holds our 75" class Samsung Q75 QLED HDR 4K TV without any wood groaning or cracking and this is a HEAVY TV. As a side note, and not really pictured, there are two somewhat big square support legs that under the middle of it, to provide additional weight bearing "legs/feet" which just added to the stability. One caution.. This thing isn't light, get help if you have to move it. Pro TIP: to add to the illusion, we have a Amazon Fire Cube, and a Smart Plug. I hooked this up to the smart plug, and setup a command in Alexa to turn it on and off, and at the same time turn on and off the Sleep Sounds Fireplace loop. It's not perfect, but it does add to the illusion, and it allows me to turn the thing off from the Echo Dot 4 in our bedroom if we happen to forget before going to bed. As a unintended side-benefit, we have a greyish blue furniture theme to our living room, ( couch, end and coffee tables, rug ).. and this blends in perfectly with the rest of the living room. I built two of these in the same week so I got a chance to become familiar with the design. Pros Directions are easy to follow with step by step pictures Decent finish when complete No missing parts or problems, some extra hardware pieces. Well packed and survived fine even with damage to exterior box Cons Engineering could be better, over reliance on Cam lock/bolt pairs Tolerances on the fit was marginal in some places and adjustments were required. Had to add brackets and more adhesive to be comfortable with the long term stability. Due to above, assembly took quite a while, about 3 hours. As someone with considerable building experience and mechanical aptitude, I saw a weakness in how this was designed in terms of the joints/attachment points/fasteners. Yes, one could build it using only what is included, and if you are careful (i.e. don’t move it or bump into it hard) it will work fine. For this price, many people will just consider it “disposable” and toss it next time they move (rather they want to or not, as it’s likely won’t survive a move as designed). I wanted it stronger. The main issue is all the Cam bolt/locks pairs used at key structural points. This type of fastener makes for fast assembly with minimal tools, but is notoriously weak especially in particle board. The particle board needs to be drilled with very good tolerances or the cam bolt/locks will either be too loose, or too tight, or the cam bolts wont line up squarely with the adjoining piece. In particle board, cam locks are known to become loose and fall out, even when initially tight. To improve the stability and reliability I did a few things. Like other reviews have mentioned, glue all linear attaching surfaces, including all four sides of the rear panels (part 10). I used a silicone based adhesive, which may seem like an odd choice, but it’s what I had on hand and works very well at resisting shear forces and won’t become super brittle and crack. It isn’t as good at tension forces though as other adhesives. Just about any glue, epoxy or adhesive will be much better liberally applied than only gluing the dowels (as instructed). Second, I added eight small 90 degree brackets to the underside of the top and bottom horizontal surface attaching it to the legs with 1/2" screws. This adds further rigidity and serves as a backup to all critical cam bolt/lock pairs. Third, I put adhesive in the cam lock holes to prevent them from rotating in the future. With these extra steps, it’s very solid and I would be quite comfortable moving it to another house in the future. ... show more
