This was used in a basement TV room on a 55” TV. The mount is very simple yet sturdy. I have no concerns about this coming off the wall and injuring someone. The mount angle adjusts up and down slightly, which is nice if you’re mounting it higher on the wall. I didn’t use the instructions to install (just used them afterward to verify I did everything right) and I didn’t have any issues. I mounted the main horizontal crossbar into studs - use a level. The TV mounts could likely be mounted in the wrong direction, so make sure you have side access to the angle adjustment screw before you install, otherwise you’ll likely be pulling it off to fix this. The TV brackets also are labeled R and L. I used a dab of blue loctite on the screws before install just for peace of mind - probably not necessary. The brackets have a latch that snaps onto the wall mounted bar. Basic mount for a great price. ... show more

    • Really great wall mount for smaller TVs

This is an excellent wall mount for smaller TVs. It comes with a bunch of hardware (especially helpful when your TV doesn't include the screws for the VESA mount... c'mon Insignia) to cover most VESA mount holes, as well as the lag bolts to mount this solidly to your studs (although it would have been nice if they had Phillips-heads on those lag bolts.) It even comes with a small plastic bubble level, although I didn't notice it packaged with the other hardware and just used my own. It's overall size allows it to just fit between two consecutive 16" on-center studs, so this won't work for you if you have wider stud spacing, but has plenty of slots if you have smaller stud spacing. The steel feels nice and strong, as was the hardware. I didn't have any problems with hardware breaking even with an impact driver. I wouldn't feel comfortable using this on a TV larger than 40", as it just seems too small to provide the strength and stability I would want for a larger, heavier TV, although this is just my opinion. I tend to over-engineer anything I install. If you are using this on a 24" TV as I did, expect to need to cut the mounting bars or else they will protrude above/below your screen. Cutting them wasn't a problem with a powered hacksaw, but wasn't so easy either that I was worried about the strength of the steel. It's a bit weird that they are long enough for larger TVs but the mounting plate is only about 4" tall, which makes it more suitable for smaller screens, and one of the reasons I wanted to purchase this mount in the first place. I wish it had a greater adjustability for tilt, but it did include plenty of spacers which I was able to use to solve this problem for my installation. The spring-loaded locking pins make it very easy to install/remove repeatedly (which I needed to do as I was checking for where to install my outlet.) One thing to point out on this is that the mount plate is mostly solid, so there's no place to mount an in-wall outlet "inside" of this plate (like you can with some of the brackets that are more "open.") Overall, I give it 4/5 stars since the manufacturer markets this for TVs up to 60". If it was marketed for up to 40" I would have given it 5 stars no question. If you want this type of mount that allows for some centering of your screen after it's mounted (as opposed to the single stud articulating mounts) then this is a great mount. ... show more

Overall, this is a very inexpensive and very workable option so long as you don't need to rotate the TV from side to side to avoid glare, etc. The mount has a simple vertical tilt feature, which is handy. It is a little crude in its construction commensurate with the price-point. This primarily affects the attention and time required of the installer, but not overly so. The brackets have a lot of slop and need to be adjusted after checking the TV for level. The process of mounting and dismounting the TV when making adjustments requires multiple attempts and is probably best done with assistance. ... show more

Great bracket for the money. It comes with multiple machine screws and spacers to accommodate attaching the hanging vertical bars to your tv. The vertical bars have spring loaded release levers to remove tv off the wall bracket. I definitely would buy again. Adjusts for slight tilt forward.

If you do not need to swivel your TV left to right and vice versa, this is a perfect mounting system. Our TV is in a small bedroom with not much space between the bed and the wall and cosequently can't stick out much. You get some choices in mounting screw sizes for the TV, but while they might be the right width, may not be the right length which is fixable at any hardware store. ... show more
