  • Love this HRM
This Wahoo heart rate monitor has always worked great easy to connect to my devices always works just great!! I would like to see a better strap compared to the Polar, It just looks inferior, but it still works great, and some different colors! I know the Polar supposed to be the gold standard, but for me, it did not work well, and I am running it on iPhone 13 with the most updated iOS. ... show more

  • Great entry level
I got this specifically for the offline workout feature. Since I can't wear a fitness watch while playing soccer or baseball or many other sports for that matter. This heart rate monitor did exactly what I wanted. Wearing it offline for a 3 hour baseball game, I didn't notice any drops in data. It does not measure distance in the offline mode only heart rate and time (I have a separate vest gps tracking device if I'm interested in tracking distance). Uploading the workout to the wahoo app is extremely simple, uses bluetooth. I use an apple watch to record my workouts outside of wahoo, so I allow wahoo to share the information with my health app and it updates all the calorie and workout metrics there as well if you're interested in that. If you want to use the heart rate monitor in online mode you will need to run it through the wahoo app, unless you have a wahoo watch to pair with it. I've used it a few times in online mode, lots of cool additional running features. Not a fan of running with my phone so I don't often use it for this purpose. Might invest in a wahoo watch in the future if I'm interested in using the full capabilities of the system. The strap itself is easy to adjust. I think heartrate monitors in general are difficult to keep from riding down your chest, no matter how many gel adhesives are on the strap. Although I do wish this one had some gel adhesives to help, it does stay stable on a run. I only have adjust it during the warm up. After that I don't find myself having to adjust it while playin baseball or anything. Doesn't feel like I'm wearing it most of the time. For my purpose of using it in offline mode this is a solid 10/10. ... show more

  • Not worth the money
I have been a long time endurance athlete with 30+ years of endurance training and racing and have used about every HR monitor and strap out there. Garmin continues to be the best, however the most expensive. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. Prior to trying the Wahoo strap I had purchased an off brand strap that worked great for two plus years without any issue. I decided to try the Wahoo strap when I needed a new one as I had heard good things and they are cheaper than a Garmin strap. Well given it only connects initially to my GarminFenix or my Garmin Edge about half the time without having to fight with it not worth the money and not even close to the off brand strap that cost less than half as much. The worst functionality of this strap comes when I attempt to do my HRV measurement in the morning. I wet the strap and connect it to my Fenix and more often than not it shows my resting heart rate at 220. This is usually after 5-10 attempts to get it to connect. My actual HR when I check my pulse is in the 40s-50s. I will take the strap off and on multiple times but it normally takes 3-5 minutes to read properly. Do better Wahoo. My advice, if you want a higher end strap that gives you running metrics, etc. go with Garmin, they cost more but work well. Or if you are looking for a basic strap go with an off brand. They tend to work well for a much cheaper price point. ... show more

Overall, I highly recommend the Wahoo TICKR X heart rate monitor chest strap to anyone looking for a reliable and user-friendly way to monitor their workouts. ... show more

  • Device works great
Update: The manufacturer honored the warranty on the belt and sent me a new one. Grateful they stand behind there product. I've had it almost a year now. The device works great. The only issue is the strap didn't make it a year. It started delaminating from the belt at the first of May. I cannot use the device until I get another belt. Other than that, the product and app work great for me. ... show more

  • Super simple and does what I need
I love stats and data, but I hate wearing watches. I'm not sure I want to waste money on a subscription to Whoop. So I have given the Wahoo a try. So far I'm a fan. I love that it connects to my iPhone, iPad, my Nordic Track bike with iFit. Obviously it works with my Wahoo Kickr. It links up to every app I have attempted to connect it to and its been far more accurate than other sensors that I have used either in watch form or built into the equipment. Very happy I got it. I do kind of wish it was rechargeable rather than using the watch battery, but I will reserve true judgement until I actually have to replace it. Longevity may change my current opinion. In addition to all the technical stuff above, I order this on a whim at 11pm. It was on my doorstep in the morning before I even got out of bed. Living 40 minutes from an Amazon hub has some perks, yet this is the first time I have ever had anything that was eligible for next day delivery actually come the next day, and for it to have been in such rapid fashion, I was super stoked about that. ... show more
