My first time using vinyl wrap and it went very well

I purchased this small roll to protect some areas on my motorcycle subject to scratching. It was very easy to install and I purchased felt tipped squeegees to smooth it out (It always helps to have the proper tools, you know). Now, I'm looking for more projects to use the film on. I watched a couple
Youtube videos on vinyl film application first, and I encourage anyone to do so prior to application for the first time.

I was pretty pleased with the wrap of my door pillars. It was my first time and any original mistakes during installation were my faulty (imprecise cuts). I overworked some places trying to get the wrap deeper into a crease in the pillar and ended up with surface marks, but again, my fault. However,
a couple days later, after being parked in the sun for a few hours, a 1/2” bubble appeared. Once the wrap cooled, it deflated, but left a very noticeable mark from where the outer bubble edge didn’t quite deflate. Tried to rub it out and apply heat to “self-heal”, but no luck. I’ll live with it, cuz I don’t feel like redoing it. It’s a Porsche, so I should prob care more, but I don’t lol. If I do redo the pillars later, I’ll try a different brand. Someone suggested Avery in these comments.

I didn't install this on my new Nissan Z - my buddy did. I wanted cover the silver trim and have it match the black roof. This did the job and did it well. Looks amazing.

Used this on the roof of my 2019 GLI and on the front of my 2020 Ryker rally. Requires heat and pressure to adhere. #1 tip, MUST be completely clean and free of dirt/grease!!!! I use rapid tack for cleaning.

Vvivid makes a really good product, so I am not ripping on the actual vinyl itself. HOWEVER, if this is your first time wrapping anything, like it was mine, go with Avery Dennison sw900 wrap first. Trust me when I say, it is much much much easier to work with than Vvivid. Avery Dennison wrap is thinn
er and is pressure activated tack, so it is easy to move around the surface you are working on and it is easier to pull on to get wrinkles out. This wrap is competitively priced and a well made product, but personally, as a beginner, I had a much more enjoyable experience using Avery Dennison wrap.

Should have been easier to use than it was. User error. Steep learning curve.

Likely this is a newbie error, but this product should have been easier to use than it initially was. First of all I wasted the first 3 inches of the roll because there was scotch tape taping the open end to the rest of the roll and I thought it was "intended" to be cut off. Then when I smoothed out
the film it looked "scratched" from my squeegie. I thought this was due to "delicate film" and started over, using just my hand to smooth this out. THEN..... I discovered that there is a clear protective film on top of the actual black film that is intended to be removed. Duh! the scotch tape was only affecting the clear protective film and the scratches I installed were only on the protective film. Wasted alot of this and now basically need another roll to finish the job. So this first roll was mostly for "practice" I guess. No where in the instructions does it say there is a protective clear film and no other vinyl I've worked with before has protective outer film on it. As I said, learning curve with this one.

Perfect cover for logo on my bike

worked out very well for first time
Size: 6ft x 5ft
Camry roof was getting oxidized, so I decided to give this wrap a try. For first time, it needs lot of patience and stretching. Turned out really nice. Paint imperfections so show but not very noticeable since on roof. If I was to do it again, I will smooth our paint with clay before wrapping.

4/5 stars great beginner wrap

The media could not be loaded. This is a great vinyl wrap if you are a beginner, because you are most likely going to make some mistakes but you will learn from them and do much better next time. With that being said if you want more gloss finish with less orange peel I would go with the 3M brand, it
is a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. This is a great wrap but does have orange peel and unfortunately you could see the lines from the wrap being rolled. My next attempt will be with 3M and knifeless tape, also buy a kit with magnets, gloves and all the necessary basic tools and go from there. 4/5 stars. If you are just needing a gloss black quick wrap, this is for you.

Too thick to cut. Little stretch to no stretch.
Size: 1.5ft x 5ft
This stuff is too thick and difficult to cot. This must be about 3.7 mil thick. Too difficult to cut in tight edges and close edges. Brand new blades couldn’t go through. It looks like it’ll likely last a long time and adhesion is great. Just too thick and hard to stretch.

Very durable and easy to coax into different spaces. MAKE SURE THAT YOU BUY THE PROPER EQUIPMENT TO APPLY because otherwise you will scratch the hell out of it. Some skill is needed to install and practice aswell.

Very difficult to install.
Size: 15ft x 5ft
The backing paper is very heavy duty and tough to remove. I had hoped to get the vinyl in place and then remove the backing as I went. That proved impossible. This is not a job for one person with this material. It is very thick and extremely tacky so it sticks wherever it touches. (Good for long ter
m, but difficult to install). Luckily I got enough to do the hood twice. I had to rip the first attempt off and will try again with a couple friends another day.

I didn’t stretch the film, I laid it on a part. It just kept lifting off after 30min. I tried heating it and holding it down, but would eventually come off on its own. Idk if it was the film or my ceramic coating(1yr old) that it wasn’t sticking.

Just OK compared to other brand

Unfortunately had much better success with the 3m vinyl. This seems like a quality product just more difficult to eliminate bubbles and not crease compared to the other brand.
