  • Awesome, so much fun
3D printing in general has a learning curve but this worked pretty well and straightforward as our first 3D printer. My only complaint so far is that occasionally it stops printing for no discernible reason (not a clog, perhaps heat creep?) --the fan turns off and the extruder stops heating. But it almost seems more like a software issue because it really bugs out after that. The temperatures and other stats on the screen go to crazy numbers and such. But this isn't really that huge of an issue anymore now that I have figured out how to continue a print that was stopped, by editing the gcode. This doesn't happen that often so it's not too bad. I have made a lot of really cool things so far with this, and definitely do recommend it. ... show more

  • Perfect Right Out Of The Box
Having cut my teeth on several anet a-8s, it was fun to literally open a box and start printing. The automated feed system saves ruining nozzles. I can’t count how many nozzles I went through with my anet no matter how well I cleaned them between prints. This printer heats to the appropriate temperature and removes and feeds so easily. I like it so much I bought two. A definite value for the price with amazing print quality and ease of use for novice or veteran printers. You want this printer!!! ... show more

  • Voxelab Aries 3D Printer. DON’T BUY EVER!!!
Actually just don’t own it. If someone gives it to as a gift give it back and unfriend them they don’t like you. This is hands down the worst 3D printer I have ever owned. I bought it because I liked Voxelabs resin printers. I do not like this printer. It worked for a month or so and I have been trying to make it work again ever since. I bought it as a birthday gift to myself on 5-28-2023. Worst gift ever! The issues. 1. The Bowden tube melted at the hot end. 2. The extruder is built funky. You can’t get the tube out like normal because it is held in by a metal star shaped lock washer. 3. YouTube and forums are better than Voxelab for support. Voxelab is part of Flashforge because of this printer I probably won’t do business with ether ever again. ... show more

  • Reliable
I bought this at the same time as a creatlity 5. This thing just works. I do recommend buying the liquid sticky stuff for the plate. The only problems have been the parts sticking to the plate and once their was a servo issue that I think came from an upgrade they pushed. Service response was great by email (obviously someone in China) they said "try it now" and it was fixed. The software is better than creality but there is a secret that you have to double click on the rotate icons on the left. The software is better behaved than others when you want to print multiple parts. The rafting feature you need to reduce the numbers or it is too thick. My Creality is a problem child and so is my daughters. Creality is ok if you want to spend time nursing it this just works. ... show more

  • Good printer but "ok" slicing software and Intermittent connection issue
UPDATE: They finally updated the slicing software. It works better on Windows 11, and I can finally snap a 3D model to the bed from any surface point of the model. I can also auto-center the model through the slicer. It's no Cura but this is much less frustrating. Unfortunately, it still disconnects from my computer randomly, forcing me to have to restart the printer to reconnect. Thankfully, when you first connect and start a print, the software uploads the print to the printer, so even if it loses connection, the print job will still finish. Initial review: When you can get this printer to print, it works wonders, but the software on the PC side can be frustrating. The Voxemaker slicing software has some good features, but it sometimes doesn't launch, especially on Windows 11, and it is missing some vital features, like leveling the 3D model to the print bed while adjusting it. It does an initial "snap to bed," but leaves you having to manually align a print to the bed afterwards. This can be frustrating as it will either prevent you from printing if the model is not on the bed, or it may inadvertently unlevel the print, causing the print to fail. Wish I could connect it to a better slicer like Cura, without having to deal with SD cards and such. Also, the wifi connection seems to crap out after virtually every print, requiring a reboot of the printer to resolve. There is no wired option to connect. When it does work, I've been able to print using PLA and TPU (with some hardware and software adjustments) just fine. ... show more

  • Great 3D printer for beginners
I wanted a 3D printer for years and the first one was one that had to be self-assembled and missing pieces it was a nightmare. This one was perfect, already put together, and super simple to learn. I have printed a plethora of things in the months that I have had it and *knock on wood* no complaints yet, all prints have come out beautiful and it seems like recently I am doing decently sized prints multiple times in a week. It handles well. Looks sleek. Just great for its price. ... show more
