I chose this dot since it has a backup cutout. Mounting any dot on a Canik Rival causes you to lose your rear sight. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on an unknown but I’m very pleased. I was able to get it very close with my boresight. I’m going to take it to the range tomorrow and thinking it will compare well to my much more expensive Sig and Vortex dots. Update: I’ve taken it to the range a number of times and put perhaps 300 rounds through it. It holds a perfect zero, functions exactly as it should. I’d 100% recommend it as long as your mounting plate has the correct footplate but that’s true with any red dot optic. ... show more

I added the VOTATU PMD505-SG green dot sight to my .22lr custom cut slide and zeroed it in at 10 yards, and it has held zero with no issues. The shake awake feature is great for conserving battery, waking up to the previous brightness setting with the slightest movement. I really like this sight a lot. Since it is a micro dot sight it is pretty small and fits really nicely onto handguns without making them feel overly bulky. The clarity of the glass seems appropriate for the price point and it doesn’t have that weird visual distortion that some sights cause. The green dot has a good range of brightness adjustability which allows me to use it any time of day or night (unfortunately I don’t have any night vision devices to test out the two lower brightness setting for night vision). The dot appears crisp and clear and I like that it is only 3moa. Some people like larger dots for handguns, but I prefer a dot like this one has. I really like how easy changing the battery is on this sight as well. I’ve had sights before that had to be completely removed to change the battery because it had to be installed from the bottom. Luckily this one just slides out the side which is perfect. The sight seems to be pretty durable so far, though I haven’t dropped it or anything like that. I used to raise chickens with my ex-husband, and we had a Ruger 10/22 to deal with the inevitable predators that came looking for a chicken dinner. It has a Picatinny mount and used an older green dot sight which, while accurate, had a short battery light since I would inevitably forget to turn it off. It also had a really inconvenient battery that was actually under the sight and required a lot of work to change it for a new one. All of this would not have been an issue with this mount. The shake awake function guarantees you won't have to worry about forgetting to turn off the sight, as after 225 seconds(roughly 3 minutes and 35 seconds) it will turn itself off. Then all you need to do is pick it up or just move it ever so lightly and on It comes. With this sight, you get everything you need to quickly install the sight and be ready to use it. At a compact 1.5x2" the sight itself with the battery installed weighs only 1.7 ounces. Mounted it feels as if there is nothing on the barrel. The User Manual is comprehensive and accurate in correct English with no misspelled words. A CR1632 battery is included to get you started, and all screws and fallen wrenches you will need for installation are in the box. There is also a cloth to clean your lenses. The sight hood covers the entire body to keep out any dust or moisture. The sight itself is housed in lightweight 7075-T7 aluminum housing, well-engineered, with adjusting fallen head screws for all settings. It can be installed on a standard Picatinny rail or on an RMS/RMSC footprint-cut pistol in a matter of minutes. The Green Dot is easy to acquire at 3 MOA in a 21mm window. There are 10 brightness settings with a fully multi-coated lens for optimal illumination. Unlike our old sight, this dot is acquired instantly without having to move the barrel around before finding it. And the battery tray is sideloaded, so you can quickly replace your battery, and no need to re-sight it afterward. OVERALL - The manufacturer claims it can hold up to a 1500g recoil, and I have no doubt this sturdy little Green Dot will do just that. Get one, and protect your livestock. Keeper! ... show more
