My 70lb American Lab is something of an authority of aggressive chewing. He tends to be very rough on toys, and for that reason we only rely on high quality nylon toys for unsupervised play. He gets some exposure to more destructive toys, but only under close supervision. When introducing a new toy to him, even nylon, we keep an eye on it until it proves itself worthy. Enter this Bone-Red toy. After 2 days of playing with this toy under supervision, I will say that it does not get the nod for unsupervised play. The nylon portion held up fine, but he is able to get the spike points on the rubber portion. I assume, if left for longer session, he would eventually get chips off of the body of the rubber, as well. Nothing that has come off would be problematic if swallowed, but it didn't take him long to get bits off, and that usually escalates from there. It's not a bad toy; he loves it. However, it will just be amongst the toy bin that only gets taken out when we are home and keeping an eye on him. ... show more

I've had this toy for months now and it's still in good conditions. My dog still loves to play with it and it keeps him entertained. Only few toys last with him for more than couple hours, and I'm happy to say that this is one of the few that is lasting a long time. So worth it!

My dog loves this bone and it seems pretty durable. It’s only been a week so I can’t speak to longevity. The smell when we first got it was pretty strong and took a few days to fade. Otherwise it’s good.

My dog absolutely loves this artificial bone. He loves that it has a beef smell. I love that a human can only smell the beef smell if they put the bone to their nose. My dog is medium size (40 pounds) and this bone has lasted like two months so far, without much wear and tear. I also like that it has a rubber handle in the middle, allowing me to pick up a part of it that isn't covered in dog slobber. Highly recommended! ... show more

This is a rock-hard plastic bone made of soft natural rubber and indestructible food-grade nylon, and it's hard for me to see any dog destroying this toy. It's a sturdy nylon bone wrapped with a rubber spiky thing that's supposed to be good for cleaning your dog's teeth, because it has clearly marked places where you can put toothpaste on it and your dog can brush his own teeth while he chews on the bone. My dog was not pleased with having toothpaste put on his new bone. He needs a dental cleaning next month anyway, so I didn't push it, but I'd bet you can start by putting peanut butter on this spiky section of the bone and work your way up to toothpaste. This is a very well made, sturdy bone for aggressive chewers, teething puppies, or very large dogs. I have a very large dog, but he isn't really into chewing on things that are this hard; he hasn't ever had any dental care, and I think he'll be more interested in playing with his toys after we do that next month. This bone is truly hard as a rock, and this should give any aggressive chewer or teething pup a run for his money. The listing tells us the bone has an attractive beef smell, but I've lost my sense of smell. My dog smelled it and liked it, but he refused to provide information for this review. Excellent product for dogs who are aggressive chewers or teething pups or for very large dogs who like to chew. This is a sturdy nylon bone wrapped with a rubber spiky thing that's supposed to be good for cleaning your dog's teeth; there's a ridge where you should put toothpaste, and I'd start with peanut butter for the first few days. My dog declined any toothpaste intervention. This is a great dog toy bone that will be around much longer than all of us.
