  • Sturdy frame
Works great. Only additional want would be a set of rubber feet to come with the rack.

  • Sturdy and well built for cheap price, assembly creativity is required
Update about 2 weeks later 4-4-23: The front electronics screw holes were a disaster. Snapped off 2 screws trying to get them through the massive amount of paint. However, an A+ goes to the seller to try and make it right. They refunded my purchase without me asking for one, and promised that their manufacturer was going to make sure they wouldn't over-paint it in the future. So as long as that is true, then I'll for sure buy this rack again. Changing my 3-star review to 4-star for the prompt seller feedback. Older review: This rack is sturdy, well built(except for mounted bolts), and cheap. A soft complaint is like what others have mentioned. This is not a true 10u open rack without some ingenuity. There are brace pieces for the top and bottom of the front of the rack. If you use those braces, they use u1 and u10. However, the way the rack and braces are built, you could easily use the included shelves as braces instead or even your rack mounted gear as braces. Not that hard to figure out. A hard complaint is the assembly. They have coated the rear mounting bolts/studs with the thick paint that is covering the rest of the hardware. I cannot get ANY of the nuts started on the bolts/studs. So now my assembly has included taking a wire brush on a drill and grinding off the paint without damaging the bolt threads. I included a picture of the paint on the bolt threads. Overall, is it worth the $30-$50 cheaper price tag than the other "namebrand"? I'll let you know after I head to the garage to grab tools. ... show more

  • Works good for home network
I'm not an IT person. Just a guy looking to clean up my home network equipment. This was the cheapest rack I could find. It fits my modem, router, switch, NVR, hard drive, and pihole without issue. Plenty of room behind the two trays to organize the wires.

  • Not actually 10u
8u usable space, 10u in height Technically not even 8u, couldn’t even fit x2 4u chassis on top of each other. Quality of materials is good, easy to assemble, but rack spacing is poo poo

  • Study, Modular
When used and assembled the proper way, the mounting brackets are threaded and uses just regular screws through them, but you can turn it 90 degrees, which has square holes, and use standard rack nuts, but you lose 2u worth of space. Overall, I'm happy with it.

  • 96 holes to tap
As of today, you will still need to tap the mounting holes before assembly. The rack screws that come with the unit are M5x0.80 and I used a tap; would not recommend a thread chaser in this case. If you only intend to use 2 hole (4 screws per 1u) patterns you can do 84, and if you plan to use only the front (10u) you can cut it down to only 40, or only the back (6u) you can further cut it down to only 24. I decided to just get it all done now and out of the way. If you intend to use something heavy I would not put on the bottom 1u part of the frame, but let the heaviest item you have (in my case a 2U UPS)anchor it. I also play bass and have several rack mount amps and effects, and I would not use the bottom frame piece as the instructions say if I had for instance a heavy tube power amp or Crown or PA either. Rather you can use this spacer closer to the middle front or back. I recommend if it is front heavy in the 5 or 6 position on the back. The sides are also cut for rack nuts and this is optional but I set up 2u vented spacers across the center of each side. Vented spacers allow you to pull zip ties through the vent holes for cable management. If you don't know or aren't careful during assembly this design can parallelogram which can make it come out wobbly. If you happen to own a lot of 1u spacers you can basically load it up, loosen the nuts that come with the unit, and tighten it with the spacers holding it square/plumb. After loading 4u worth of UPS, switch, and kvm any wobble that might have been is gone. If yours will be sitting on the floor for instance, the M6 holes meant to connect two racks can also be used if you find threaded feet and use them for leveling, you would just need to find the right ones. If you aren't going to use anything heavy with it, i do recommend that. It's a good rack unit, as opposed to a great one. If you like to buy a project to keep you busy, this is good for an evening. If you need a more 'time is money' option there are 20 different versions of this with different brands and presumably the more expensive ones require fewer steps that aren't in the instruction book. ... show more
