I needed this to replace a 27 1/2" 500w mountain bike style commuter but I now needed a step through and this c26 bike had more style than the others, so I read the reviews, compared accessories with other bikes, and, based on that I ordered one in silver. My order was shipped immediately, showing the distributor to be very responsive, and arrived in minimal time. Assembly was easy, except for that darn seat mechanism. My seat was different from the one pictured, but that one seemed to draw complaints from other reviewers as uncomfortable,and the substitute was padded and comfortable so I think it was an upgrade. I initially rode it 6 miles ( my daily city commute ) and was very pleased with how solid it rides. The pedal assist kicks in quite a bit quicker than my previous 500 watt bikes and, after the initial surprise, was very steady and comfortable to pedal and maintain good speed, giving optimal power even at lower settings, and great for crossing intersections quickly. The gearing is very smooth and shifts flawlessly, no clunks or hesitation. I very much liked the adjustment options for the handlebar, which is lacking on many bikes in that price point. That let me optimize my comfort, reducing the strain on my back, arms, and hands, which was problematic on previous bikes. I love the lights, ( no more dead battery add ons ) and, WOW, the brake light is nice and bright, I intend to run with lights day and night to increase my visibility on the street, a nice safety factor. I do wish the display was more detailed but I just added a phone holder and speedometer app on my phone . The bell is fine to warn pedestrians but I will add a louder electronic horn for vehicle traffic, they're very inexpensive. The rear rack is surprisingly very solid and I'll use mine a lot. Also, Im so glad it takes a key to activate, which is some protection from theft ( last bike didn't and was stolen easily as the thief could easily and quickly ride it away after drilling my Ulock and it's not always convenient to carry a battery around ) This is my 6th ebike, and the best one yet, in style, power, comfort, convenience, and overall handling. This is my first Ebike. I've wanted one for years but did not want to spend $2000.... after looking around for weeks online and every brand and model in my price range, I found myself over and over always coming back to this 500W Vivi Ebike. It has everything I had in mind for what I wanted an Ebike for. Enjoyment cruising and utility. It's very comfortable. Suoer solid frame, nice front suspension soaks up bumps. Its weighty and provides a smooth safe ride, it really feels like it holds the road! Nice upright riding position 👌🏽. Great it has headlight & taillight/brake light. Large and strong utility rack on the back. Plus you can add more of your own if you wish, like a handlebar basket. Step-through design makes getting on/off a breeze. Bike functions EXACTLY as described. Using the controller box on handlebar is intuitive, simple, and it, and whole operation becomes second-nature quickly. I charged it when I got the bike and the power meter still has not moved off full ⚡ The bike arrived on-time via FedEx in perfect condition. It's about 80% preassembled and I did the assembly needed myself. I saw people had issues with installing the seat, that seemed to be a snag, but they have redesigned the seat assembly, its not like it has shown in prior videos and what people had stated. The seat went on super simple & fast. Just needed to mention that! I did write to Vivi with two small questions about operation and their customer service is top notch.very fast replies with easy to understand answers. Special shout-out to Jesse! 🙋♂️ Well, a week later I bought a 2nd Ebike so we both have them. Very happy with my purchases. Vive la Vivi ! 👍🏽 ... show more

    • Great Budget E-Bike with just a few wrinkles

I purchased the Vivi electric cruiser bike recently. I have a few comments: 1. Overall, it's a great bike for the very inexpensive price of under $400. Shipping was $170 however - a little pricey. 2. Love the overall look of the bike, the step-thru, the cruiser handlebars. Big plus for Bright Lights - front and rear. The rear light also brightens when you hit the brakes - very nice. The rear light is very visible from the rear and the forward light has enough lumens to allow you to see the road in front of you. Vivi went an extra mile to put a nice set of lights on this bike. 3. Adjustability of handlebars and seat is excellent and I am able to have a very upright seated position on the bike. 4. This is my 3rd e-bike and I like it the best of the three. This one is an excellent choice for seniors (I am 69 years old). It doesn't go too fast and doesn't surprise you when riding. 5. Negatives: These are mostly quibbles but I want to mention them. The bike goes about 18 mph on a full charge but drops to 15 mph or so after only 10 minutes. It drops to 13 or 14 mph after about 1/2 an hour of riding. So - if you want to go 20 mph all the time (max class 2) you probably will want a different bike. Pedaling: pedaling without electric assist is possible on this bike but not very fun. I wouldn't want to go more than 1 mile without some electric assistance. Also - the highest gear doesn't really allow you to assist the electric motor at 15 mph plus; you will spend most of your time just freewheeling. The overall quality of the bike is fair to good, not excellent, but about what I expect for the price. 6. I commute 6 miles every day using this bike using a bike path in my city. This bike is just about perfect for this use. 7. I can heartily recommend the Vivi 26" City Cruiser E-Bike as a wonderful introduction to e-bikes in general.
