This fit perfectly on my lathe and it helps the work piece nicely. It can be a little challenging to tighten down at times since it does require two hands, but for the price, I can't complain. Fear not, this is certainly a gem amongst loads of other crappy offerings. I turn almost daily and decided to exclude my Nova G3 to give this a test drive. VERY IMPRESSED! This chuck certainly exceeded my expectations given the price, to which I wasn't expecting much but it shined. Well made, tight tolerance and zero runout with no adjustments while turning. Is it Nova quality? No, nor will it replace mine but for a simple, down and dirty inexpensive and highly usable chuck it can serve the needs of probably anyone who is a hobby turner. Bought this chuck along with larger jaws and a set of 8 1/4 Cole jaws for the times that my Nova chuck was tied up. Inquired with the company if I could only purchase the chuck without the standard jaws since I already had that. They used to sell the plain set but no longer market it that way. Will wait until the chuck goes back on sale so I can leave the various jaw set that I purchased on a dedicated chuck. Chuck runs true and the price is right (When on sale) ... show more

    • Chuck will loosen and throw project

Nice chuck for the price. Works fairly well. The issues is, if you have to much vibration when turning a piece the chuck will loosen and throw the piece your working off the lathe. After using this chuck and experiencing this a few times, I’ve learned to shut down the lathe every time I experience to much vibration and retighten the chuck. If you fail to check this chuck every 5 minutes, you better be quick on your feet and be able to dodge objects falling at you. ... show more
