  • Well made would recommend
Model: SCR4-4
The fit and functional design works well. It may be a few thousandths off but for wood turning it works well at this price point. Turned multiple handles/pens so far. The hold and adjustability are good. Solid weight and turns fine so far at speed.

  • Just what I needed
Model: SCK4-3.75
Can't beat it for the money, it's a good chuck , good built and works fine for small projects, works great for vases, duck calls small bowls. Love it

  • Surprisingly good chuck
Model: SCR4-4
Sometimes inexpensive tools require a review to help others with real world experience in deciding whether to make the purchase. Fear not, this is certainly a gem amongst loads of other crappy offerings. I turn almost daily and decided to exclude my Nova G3 to give this a test drive. VERY IMPRESSED! This chuck certainly exceeded my expectations given the price, to which I wasn't expecting much but it shined. Well made, tight tolerance and zero runout with no adjustments while turning. Is it Nova quality? No, nor will it replace mine but for a simple, down and dirty inexpensive and highly usable chuck it can serve the needs of probably anyone who is a hobby turner. I purchased it for one specific purpose on my larger stationary lathe and wouldn't hesitate to buy another, great tool at a fantastic price! ... show more

  • Good value
Model: SCR4-4
Works perfectly on my nova comet lathe with a 1"x8 tpi shaft. I was a little worried that it didn't have the worm style key drive to expand or contract, but what do you expect for 60 bucks. It uses 2 little handle tools stuck into holes and pulled in opposite directions, but it stays put. You can see the holes in the pic. ... show more

  • 8-1/4” Cole Jaw Set for SCR4-4 Scroll Chuck
Model: COLE JAW
Item arrived quickly, well packaged, as advertised, and sold at a very good price. Jaws are well-made of sturdy cast aluminum with bumper mounting holes precisely machined, and fits my VINWOX SCR4-4 Scroll Chuck perfectly. Jaw set comes with two sets of eight bumpers (short and long) and mounting screws. It happened that one of the long bumpers was missing from the set I received. I corresponded with the seller (SpeedForceUSA); they responded within a couple hours offering an entirely new set of jaws and bumpers since they do not carry the bumpers separately. I accepted their generous offer, and received the new (complete) set of jaws/bumpers in only two days! I now have several spare parts which should last me a very long time. I've used the jaw set a few times and find it to be a very good product from an excellent seller. ... show more

  • It works GREAT!
Model: SCR4-4
As a beginning bowl Turner, I didn't want to spend big money on necessary tools and fixtures. I took a chance on this chuck and after more than 50 bowls, some over 14", I am very satisfied. It holds the bowl blank tight and is well balanced. I would definitely buy another one.

  • Fits perfectly, turns well, grips tight!
Model: SCK4-3.75
The media could not be loaded. First off, I love that I didn’t have to overpay for a good quality gear chuck! Second, I love that it fits perfectly on my WEN benchtop lathe! And best of all, it holds its grip well! Was absolutely drenched in grease in the box so no worries about rust. A little excessive really as there were grease spots on the outside of the box, but I guess better safe then sorry. The ONLY downside is that sometimes the key will slip a little when tightening. The teeth of the key are not as deep as I’ve seen on other chuck keys. Overall, I really love it and would definitely recommend! ... show more

  • 10 Month Check-In
Model: SCR4-4
I've had this check for 10 months now so I am providing an updated review. Overall, it has worked very well but after a while, my wood work began wobbling pretty bad. I called the lathe manufacture and he recommended some troubleshooting. In short, the culprit was the chuck lost alignment and caused my wood work to wobble. I took the chuck apart, cleaned it, and re-assembled it. It seems to be better now but I will most likely buy a new (better name brand and reputable) chuck to replace this one. ... show more
