I really wish it didn’t have the slot for storing an Apple Pencil, especially because there isn’t protection directly touching the iPad where that slot is. Overall, the case is made of a thick TPU (aka Thermoplastic Polyurethane). Some places are hardened, like the rounded corners on either side of the pencil holder, and elsewhere around the screen it is a snug fit, but it’s bendable. Particularly, I’m not entirely impressed how movable the bumper is around the speakers. But it’s a good case for household use (on a desk or couch surfing), I just wouldn’t expect it to protect the iPad well during heavy use or traveling. The trifold cover takes about a week to loosen up, and stay magnetized in place. After about a week’s use, I’m happy with how well it stays in place and supports the iPad in landscape mode. I received the Space Grey which looks great. The TPU body is a very dark grey, and the trifold cover is lighter and has a nice metallic sheen to it.
