  • These stands and KRK Rokit 8 = Good to go
Needed to free up space on the desk, so gave these a try. I purchased these for my KRK ROKIT 8 speakers as seen in the attached pictures. All in all, the speakers fit and I am pleased with the purchase. Pros: -Easy to assemble, with “obvious” fittings for each piece. Thorough instructions with graphics. Required only a single Phillips screwdriver. -Sturdy, holds KRK Rokit 8 without issue. Lots of options for positioning, although I have only tried resting flat/non pivoting configurations. -Width adjustment simple and intuitive; adjusted by rotating a screw on the opposite side of the bracket, either by hand or with a Phillips head screwdriver (remember to tighten/secure once fit has been established). -Cable management! If your cables are small enough, there is included routing options (although in my application it was not possible due to cables I am using). Cons (barely, more like minor quirks): -Very granular stability adjustments; legs are stabilized by individual threaded feet, so care should be taken with either a level or trial and error before adding speaker to stand. -Included foam pads are small. As you can see in the photos, the foam inserts are small, but are still effective. If I was truly bothered I could acquire something different, but these suffice. Would I recommend to friends/family: Yes Would I use this in a commercial/professional application: Yes Would I purchase again if the need arose: Yes ... show more

  • Another great product from VideoSecu
(Review written by item recipient, not by above account holder name) These are great speaker stands for the price, I now own 3 pairs and a few of their TV/Monitor mounts. I only trust VideoSecu to hold my A/V equipment now. Pros: •Easily adjustable height and tilt •Rubber feet for partial dampening of vibrations •Speaker wire can be fed through the pole •Sleek black design, arrives well packaged and protected from scratches. •Includes some self-adhesive foam padding strips for additional dampening or scratch protection •Feet can be removed, along with the screw in order to screw/bolt it down to a floor or even ceiling mount them. •Adjustable speaker width clamps can clamp tight enough with some rubber in order to hold speakers without needing to screw into the speaker Cons: •Clamps feel a little loose when initially tightening them, but seem sturdy enough once both sides are clamped to the speaker. •I feel the clamps should be taller, or an additional accessory provided to extend them higher for more secure screw-less clamping. •Stand is too easy to tip over, especially if fully extended, I wouldn't call these "Heavy Duty" if in high traffic areas. Though perhaps this isn't a con in some installations requiring a smaller footprint •Feet could perhaps use some better vibration dampening similar to some subwoofer feet - in fact you probably could install subwoofer vibration dampening feet onto these. Other thoughts: I recommend using some velcro or screwing/bolting the base to the floor unless you're sure they won't get bumped too hard and tip over. Also, these work GREAT as ceiling mounts - and it saved floor space! (Just watch your head), I used toggle bolts through the feet to hang from a drywall ceiling but they could be screwed directly into beams too. As for mounting the speakers, if you're really against screwing into the speakers just buy some low profile self-adhesive rubber strips or rubber feet to help the side clamps grip to a speaker. You could even extend it up a bit higher using some brackets of some sort screwed into either sides of the clamping mounts. ... show more

  • I like 'em. I like 'em alot!
I have not been "corrupted" or enlightened by more expensive products, so with my limited experience (these are the first speaker stands I've used) I'd have to say these stands are great. There seem to be some minor changes in comparison to previous reviews. There was no plastic piece to punch out or remove from the bottom pole in order to thread the speaker wire to my amp. They were packaged very carefully and fully assembled. Not a scratch or blemish on them. They also included rubber strips with adhesive backing for the side arms so as not to mar the speaker cabinets when tightening them into place, no blue tack needed! I did however cut out rubber shelf lining sheets to protect my speakers from the bottom plate as my speakers have shiny, piano black plates on the tops and bottoms. One reviewer complained that the speakers had to sit atop the wire to be threaded down the centre of the poles, but that was not the case with mine. This set had holes pre-cut on the sides of the upper poles near the top so the speakers sit flush on the carrying plates and I cannot see the speaker wire from most angles. I'm using these with Definitive Technology StudioMonitor 350 speakers, which weigh 14 lbs. each. I removed one star from a perfect rating because the bottom plate could stand to be a bit larger. The speakers will teeter slightly if pushed, but I have no pets or children to worry about causing any accidents. The stands are perfectly stable, even on medium pile carpeting. Even when I play music loudly with strong bass attacks, they do not move in reaction to the low notes. Actually, I wish I could attach a half star more, because for the price, the product I received is stellar and completely pleasing. These stands are easily adjustable in all directions, and once secured, the settings won't change. They allow me to locate the speakers perfectly in all directions, which is tonnes better than the console table I was using previously. I'm very satisfied with my purchase as the speakers sound even better than they did before, and that, after all, is the main purpose of purchasing this product, is it not? Oh, and they are rather handsome looking to boot. Minimal and unobtrusive or gaudy, just my style. I could have afforded the next tier up in quality, but why bother? I'm handy with wood and power tools, so if I require beefier stands in the future, I plan on just building my own. For now though, this product saved me time, effort, money, and frustration from miscalculated measurements. A fact I appreciate especially as I'm just too busy to build anything right now, but not too busy to sit and have a listen to my favourite tunes in sheer enjoyment when I have a spare moment to myself. ... show more
