I would give these stands five stars on construction and appearance, but three stars for value. They are indeed overpriced compared to other bookshelf speaker stands. They were well packed, easy to assemble and heavy enough for the LSX speakers. I did not see the need to fill them with ballast.

These are well-built, attractive stands, that are probably twice what they should cost... but that's the price to pay if you want to treat your LSX as a piece of visual furniture, esp. if you're purchasing in white w/ the silver accent - there's a visual impact that is absent w/ the LS50W and associated Kef stands (which aren't specifically created for them), that for those, I went aftermarket. To that end, the LSX mate perfectly to the top plate, so much so when you screw them in, they feel like they have become one w/ the stand. ... show more

Whoever designed these has made them impossible to assemble. The screw attaching the speaker simply does not ever catch thread and tighten and it’s almost impossible to access with the tool they provided. I’m sending these back. Complete and total design fail.
