  • A "must have" for larger arrays
The first time I bought the 250/100, I set up an 8 panel, 1600W array. It worked flawlessly, and allowed me to reduce line loss by kicking up the voltage (i'd been using SmartSolar 100/50s). I saved a lot of power. Now I'm getting my second for a 24 panel array at 6000W, and I save even more on line loss (this array even further away from my system). I've NEVER had a problem with Victron gear. It's the only stuff I use for my off-grid setup. ... show more

  • Extremely well made charge controller!
Not a cheap charge controller but built like a tank and works excellent! I put the optional battery monitor on the face of this unit for added ability to make sure batteries are charging properly. The Bluetooth app on my phone allows me to monitor functions from a distance. The bulk, absorption and float functions are all automatic and spot on for my V MAX AGM batteries coupled to my Samlex NTX 3000 inverter. I’ve read reviews about some of the large controllers overcharging batteries, I have not seen any of that with this unit. If you have the extra money to get the bigger controller, it’s well worth it! ... show more

  • Good.
Im in love with this unit. I used to think that victron was over priced but this unit is worth it. The mppt tracking is top class and the moinering features is great. My older mppt epever with 3,600w of solar was good. On average I only saw about 1500w from 3600w of solar. Now I'm seeing way more. This morning it was overcast like it was going to rain. I was shocked to see 2500w coming in to charge my 48v 300ah battery. Normally on days like this im doing good if I get 1000w coming in. Huge difference between the 2 charge controllers and victron is more feature rich. ... show more

  • Yes,what a difference quality makes.
Been a cheapskate when I purchased charge controllers in the past. Turns out that's an expensive pastime, since I now have a small collection of broken and/or frustratingly poorly performing "doorstops". On an 800 watt array with a150/70 I got 800+ Pmax when panels are cool. On a 1600 watt array with 250/100 I periodically get 1600+ and occasionally 1700. I think victron is the only true mppt I've owned. And it's really a plug and go setup. I turned the dial to 7 for lifepo4 and installed the optional front display and it has been working flawlessly for month incl.the Bluetooth app ... show more

  • State of the art equipment
This mppt is a must have for your solar system. I was skeptical at first because of the price but this thing turned out to be worth every penny. It squeezes out every watt possible out of my solar panels which was impossible before using cheap $100 charge controllers. I'm replacing all of my equipment with Victron and so far I'm amazed by how Advanced the system is. ... show more

  • this works great no fans
wow what a power house this maximizes your solar production . easy to fine tune for optimum output. have had much success with all victron equipment . . also if your looking to have a step down dc to dc converter and cant find one with enough power. although its not specified this unit has this capability . it does , works great . provides 100 amps to a 24v system from a 48v system battery to battery using the 48v battery as solar . and no fans quiet. 2 thumbs up i strongly recommend the 250/100 solar control ... show more
