Features

  • Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 150-Volt 35 amp: A solar charger gathers energy from your solar panels, and stores it in your batteries, Using the latest, fastest technology, Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT maximises this energy-harvest, driving it intelligently to achieve full charge in the shortest possible time
  • Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT charge controller will even recharge a severely depleted battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 Volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulphated or otherwise damaged
  • By constantly monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar (PV) panels, Victron Energy MPPT technology ensures that every drop of available power is rinsed out of your panels, and harvested for storage
  • Anytime anywhere remotely control and monitor the extensive features of your Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT charge controller with built-in Bluetooth by pairing it with your smartphone or other device via VictronConnect
  • The intelligent Load output function prevents damage caused by running batteries 'flat'. You can configure the voltage at which SmartSolar disconnects a load - thereby preventing excessive drain on your batteries

  • These do make a difference.
Style: 150V 35A
I have used several different brands of cheaper MPPT chargers and while adequate, these just blew me away. Now I'm looking at other Victron products. The prices are all that keeps me from buying. Have to wait for a price drop, just like I did with these chargers (I bought 2 for 2 different arrays.)

  • It's Victron, it just works.
Style: 150V 35A
Used this to replace a BougeRV charge controller, this one is far more accurate and its MPPT tracking is much better. I'm getting about 30% more out of the same solar panels and they are running at a higher voltage on this versus the other. Victron gear just works and their app is so much better with a detailed 30 day history. ... show more

  • Best charge controller after experiencing 3 mediocre ones.
Style: 150V 35A
I have used 3 other charge controllers before purchasing this one. The 3 of them were from Harbor Freight, Renogy, and Beleeb. I am electromagnetically sensitive to energy (crystals, magnets, mandalas, etc) and most charge controllers feel energetically uncomfortable to me except this one. I have thoroughly went through all the functions and parameters to see what would relieve me especially when you are living the van life. Your body is continually exposed to magnetic fields, EMF, and radiation when sleeping near various electronic equipment. And for some reason I couldn't sleep well with the previous charge controllers despite playing with the many settings. But this Victron felt better to me. I saw the Bulk, Absorption, and Floating point voltage values were inputtable to 2 decimal places (hundredths place). I looked at my batteries' datasheet, I have 3 Trojan-1275s set in parallel, and lo and behold the datasheet showed 14.82 as my bulk/Absorption voltage, 13.50 for my floating voltage, and 16.20 for equalization that's built into it as an optional function. After inputting these values into the charge controller, I was able to sleep comfortably and in peace. Sure there is Bluetooth that is always on, but it goes to low voltage when not in use, also I have the option to turn off Bluetooth. But be aware you will need accessories to connect directly to your charge controller if you want to turn on Bluetooth. Bluetooth is on by default from the manufacturer. Also it feels better to use tinned copper wire (flexible test lead wire) from the charge controller to your batteries. I kept the length of my wires at 3 feet from the charge controller to the batteries. And on the battery post, if I remember correctly I placed the charge controller's wire with a ring connector lug at the very bottom of the post. The middle connection was a battery cable coming from the other battery, and at the top of the post was my inverter. ... show more

  • Works well.
Style: 150V 35A
This controller worked well because of the 150 volt input from the panels. It replaced a Renogy controller that could not work at the voltage levels. I have factory installed #10 wire run from my roof to the charge controller. I do not want to run new wires or cut new holes in the roof. This means that you have to up the voltage in order to get the watts to the controller. The commercial panels I have allow in series voltages of well over 150 volts, so I chose to put three panels (335 watt/40 vdc each) in series for a 120 volt at 8.3 max amps. This is less than 1/3 the rated amp load of a #10 copper wire. So very, very low voltage drop. The batteries are currently at 12 volts so the charger is limited to about 400 watts being sent to the batteries at any time. This will change this winter to 48vdc so I can get the full power through it. This charge controller linked to a blue tooth battery monitor has been bullet proof so far. Just make sure you get the high power battery monitor. The low power one will maybe not make it from your batteries to the charge controller. Mine are on opposite ends of a 32 foot trailer. The Lesson I learned from this of having to buy things twice. Pay the price of a good charge controller, with a warranty. One note this seller told me to contact Victron directly when I had a question. Normally resellers of Victron equipment are certified for the equipment they sell. Maybe the seller can tell me, but I believe this is not an official Victron Distributer. ... show more

  • Simply the best
Style: 150V 35A
Its a Victron and works as advertised. Purchased 2 and Connected them to 2 strings of 4×100watt panels. Consistently get 25amps out of each to charge 800ah of AGM's in high mountain cabin. Would I order again? You bet...I run mostly Victron. Always plug and play. Update: been running chargers for over a month now. I average 25 amps each for 5 hours. No faults, no errors and no issues. Even updated to a victron 12v/1200va inverter. The system works great. Going to add another string and charger before winter sets in. ... show more

  • Nothing else I have seen offers this level of features / performance at this price point.
Style: 150V 35A
I have been using a small solar setup at a remote property I have owned for years. I was using a Trace C40 which is one of the better PWM controllers and this is my first experience with MPPT. I recently moved the batteries about 75 ft from the panels and into a equipment shed and at 12 volts the line losses were significant. I rewired my old panels in series {120 vdc) and installed a Victron 150/35. right beside the battery. I went from barely able to charge the battery to it being full everyday by noon. The bluetooth is great because I don't even have to unlock the shed and go inside I can just connect and know instantly the state of the entire charging system. Wish List: I wish there were a way to download the log via bluetooth to the phone so I could review later when not connected. I wish I could see a timeline so I could easily determine at what time of day I hit max power and voltage. this would help me spot problems with partial shading. I wish there were a way to connect to the device over wifi / ethernet so I could check the stats from home as I have connectivity to the site. Overall I am quite happy with the purchase and if the unit continues to preform as it is I will be purchasing an additional one to charge a lithium pack. ... show more
