  • For me, best drum sticks ever
Color: Original Version
Through the decades I've gone through many brands, styles and sizes of sticks from all manufacturers. These by far are the most balanced, comfortable 5A sticks for acoustic or electronic drums for me. The barrel head design rebounds nicely especially on my Yamaha DTX-Pro XP-80 & XP -100 silicone drum heads as well as my PCY cymbals. ... show more

  • This model has changed over the years
Color: Original Version
I bought many pairs of this model back in 1991 - enough to last me until very recently. It is a model that I have used primarily for funk/fusion, because I really love the rebound & balance. The current incarnation of this model has been improved by leaving the paint off the tips (I always hated marking up my drum heads with a new pair of Weckl sticks.) The new finish is quite attractive & seems to be more durable than the old lacquer-covered stain. The pairing is exceptional - the sticks sound exactly alike within the pair. However, these sticks are a bit thicker & considerably heavier than the older version. That has a noticeable effect on the balance & rebound. There is nothing wrong with the sticks, in general, but they are not what I was expecting & I'm not in love with them. I'm currently searching for a replacement that will give me balance & rebound comparable to the old Dave Weckl model. ... show more

  • Great versatility, but lacks weight for fast diddle patterns
Color: Original Version
Weckl's are about 3/4" longer than a typical stick, which I prefer. The bead has great articulation and attack, but lacks power. I flip to the butt for extra kick on the snare. The painted finish is high quality, and avoids absorbing sweat (sweat = raw hands). The thin shaft, and overall light weight, makes it difficult to control very fast diddle patterns since the stick lacks momentum. Overall, these are my go-to from the stick bag. ***UPDATED 3/31/2017***added a star. These are now my go-to stick ***UPDATE 3/2020*** (5) years later and these are still my stick-of-preference. ... show more

Color: Original Version
Great sticks! I have been used to playing 7As and got these for Christmas. Now I hate going back! These Wreckl's are dipped in paint instead of the usual bare wood or lacquered. This gives it a nice feel and looks clean too. Perfect weight especially for fast drumming or soft playing. The tip is basically a round barrel shape instead of the common tear drop which I feel like it brings out a warmer tone that isn't so bright. Others might disagree, but these are definitely my new favorite sticks! ... show more

  • Awesome drumsticks! Slight Warning.
Color: Original Version
These are awesome drumsticks! It has a nice mahogany look to it, and a wooden tip. The sticks are awesome to use, and have no discomfort at all. However I would suggest only electronic drummers use these, because these seem too nice to bang up on an acoustic drum set. Overall I am really satisfied with this product, and look forward to buying more from this seller if these ever break. ... show more

  • A New First Choice
Color: Original Version
These are outstanding sticks, perfectly weighted and balanced. Nice for sticking heavier rides but does not overwhelm on thinner crashes.
