  • Great feel
Style: Signature Series
These are my favorite sticks, bar none. The balance and weight are perfect, and I love the taper. They hold up forever even with me beating the drums like a cave man!

  • Good Feel Good Balance
Style: Signature Series
I orginally purchased one pair of these sticks because I was actaully trying to find something as close to this other stick that was no longer made. When it arrived this wasn't it. So this stick ended up within my bottom dresser drawer that contains a boat load of sticks. Just recently I crossed paths with it once again and I slipped it into my bag to take and use at my drum lessons. But after playing with it for a while it opened my eyes up quite a bit. The thing for me is I am always working on the Tommy Aldridge stick twirling. Tommy uses that Promark 2S in the heavier Japanise oak. Ever hold those? Heavy stick! Could be used as a weapon. Promark makes a 2S also that is Texas American Hickory which is a bit lighter and easier for me. But what I like about this stick is the weight and balance + the machined taper in the grip makes for some good balance. There is enough weight. And I also most of the time use the butt end of this stick as the tips are a little light. Depends on what I am doing. Sometimes I will flip it around quick for a traditional grip thing and noodle around on my hihat and then I will twirl them a tad and next thing ya know, I'm pumping my twin bass drums and slamming down on my kit with the Butt ends. I think sometimes we evolve quite a bit with sticks. One month it's this and later on it's that. But this month I am buying loads of these. I hope they keep on making them and I think right now I will be using this for quite some time. When I train or practice I will use the Aldridge heavy oak to build up strength. This stick is heavy enough yet versitle for me. ... show more

  • Amazing drumsticks!! Period!!
Style: Signature Series
Danny Carey is one the most iconic drummers in music history. That is especially true with these drum sticks. I will warn the customer buying these sticks that they are very heavy to most drummers. I am 6 foot 6 and I prefer heavy drumsticks. These sticks can be used for various styles of music, but I recommend them for heavy music styles. They are a 5B and they have some the most intricate designs I have ever seen on a set of drumsticks. I love the taper and the length of the drumsticks. It gives a lot of room for a powerful backbeat. So if you love heavy metal or hard rock these drumsticks will be perfect for you. I give these signature drumsticks a 5 star rating all the way. Vic Firth keeps outdoing their products all the time and this product is one of the most famous products they have ever produced. Thanks Vic Firth and Rest In Peace Vic Firth!! ... show more

  • Devilishly good
Style: Signature Series
Among drummers, Danny Carey is a fairly well known individual. Generally speaking he's a fantastic drummer with a number of unique features to his style that can at times bend the drummer's mind. These sticks will not make you play like Danny Carey, but they are quite nice. I am used to playing with a slightly lighter stick, so my hitting is a tad on the heavier side with them, but that will go away soon as I adjust. What I can say is that these are the most comfortable sticks I have used so far. I've played with dipped and regular from all major brands, as well as some "specialty" sticks such as Ahead. These are the nicest for me to hold, all due to a subtly tapered section where the grip is. The signature on the sticks features Danny Carey's signature with a pentagram and the Eye of Horus. Given Danny's own visual style when he plays (the inclusion of sacred geometry, etc.) these are appropriately placed and are a nice touch. ... show more

  • Vic Firth Signature Series -- Danny Carey ... Incredible stick, one of the absolute best in the market!
Style: Signature Series
These sticks are one of the best I have ever played with! As others have said, the weight is similar to a 2B stick, however, it isn't cumbersome. The stick has very good rebound, especially on the ride cymbal. The best feature of course is the slight taper towards the bottom end of the stick. It definitely helps with keeping the stick in your hand while playing. Overall the stick is very comfortable to play with and it is currently my favorite stick. Danny and Vic Firth did an outstanding job designing this. I would invite you to check these sticks out for yourself, try them out at your local music store if you can. P.S. This stick does give you blisters on your fingers and palms after playing for long periods of time, but it isn't too bad and it'll go away quickly. ... show more

  • Best sticks ever
Style: Signature Series
Easily the best sticks I’ve ever used and all I play with now. Very durable and because of the tapered middle area they have amazing feel and balance.
