I got two of these lights in black gold-line finish to hang outside of the garage. The light is made of aluminum, light and very sturdy. I like the simple, black with gold-line rustic look of the frame (see picture). The clear bevel glass with see through top allows light to shine through the top during the night is a plus (see picture). The light comes pre-assembled except the top hook piece has to be screwed in. It comes with the installation brackets, screws, three electric twist caps and an instruction sheet (see picture). The installation is straightforward, taking out the old lamp, installing the bracket, wiring the white, black and ground wires (follow the instruction sheet). Make sure the ground bare wire is connected to the bracket and the light frame in order to ground the metal frame. There are 3 modes of operations, namely (1) dusk-till-dawn mode, (2) complete-off then 100% brightness when motion detected (ECO+ mode), (3) standby with 30% brightness and 100% brightness when motion detected (Dim mode). What I like is that the ECO+ mode and the Dim mode can be selected simply by using the small button at the motion sensor at the top of the frame, rather than some other way of flipping a light switch used in other light fixtures. Once it was selected, the light will store its setting. Further there is a nice feature not mentioned on the website: when I press the little button on the motion sensor, in the dim motion sensing mode, the dim brightness can be adjusted from very low brightness to about 1/3 to 1/2 full brightness. After the adjustment, the light brightness will remain at that level when motion is not detected and else to full brightness. This is really a very good feature to further save electric power and allows one to adjust the stand-by brightness of the night environment. I got one of these lights with the vine program (free) and my wife liked the way it looked, so I bought another. I just installed both lights and I am happy with the results. The motion sensor seems sensitive and quickly changes from the low brightness to full brightness when I pull into the driveway. It does stay full brightness for longer than I expected, but that gives you plenty of time to get into the garage. There are three modes of operation, and since it uses a photocell and has a dim mode (30%), be sure to use dimmable light bulbs, otherwise it might not operate properly. I have only used the 30% brightness / full brightness mode and the 30% using a "60 watt" dimmable LED bulb. is actually bright enough for most uses. Edit: I found that these have an adjustable "low" mode. You press a d hold the mode switch and it will cycle between fairly bright and a dim glow. When you release it, the low will be set at the low level you set it at. Also the sensor is sensitive enough to pick me walking out from behind my car at 50 feet. I'm liking these more as I get uses to them. ... show more

We started with only replacing four and ended up replacing all of the lights around our home with these the best feature is each individual one is motion for 15 seconds, and then they shut off. They’re very bright and clear and look great on the house.

We bought 8 of these gold Vianis fixtures (yes, we did need THAT many) and they look very nice as replacements to our aged brass ones. They all operate well so far and as advertised. Maybe the only thing we would like would be a sensitivity adjustment because they flip on with every passing vehicle on the street side until traffic calms at night. The Amazon vendor on these is very responsive to issues. Ours were cosmetic issues, not operational. Four of the top gold painted balls arrived scratched because they came inside a plastic pouch with other parts rubbing against them. Those are yet to be replaced as they are awaiting a production run. One fixture had a long molding defect in the front and they sent a replacement fixture. We expected it to be shipped from overseas and take a while, but it came right away. Communication has been responsive and good between us and them. No need to contact Amazon directly but always thru their site. Very happy with our purchase so far!! Update: Vendor followed thru sending the replacement knobs for the top of the fixtures without any further contact necessary. Great seller and would highly recommend! ... show more
