I don't know why the others are saying this is a bad Lathe because it's pretty good for the price! Mine came in perfect condition with none of the issues some other people have experienced. I'm new to metal turning but I haven't had any problems so far.

The shipping crate was damaged and the nuts holding the lathe to the skid were not on the bolts. The carriage and the crossslide would not move with the hand wheels. The chip pan and back splash were bent.

It works for the money. Able to get extremely fine cutting. Did noting that when turning down metal from on end to the other it’s off. When you get close to the final diminsion you really need to only remove half a mil at a time. One set of the jaws it came with will not hold a work piece straight. Customer service was really responsive but in the end they said it can’t hold a work piece that small straight. The work pieces was 3/4 diameter 🙄. The other set of jaws hold everything correctly. Would I buy again on these price points probably yes ... show more

Junk!! I expected imperfections, but this is bad!! I bought this knowing it was not going to to be a high quality tool but I've bought plastic toys of better quality than this. Just don't buy it. Amazon should not allow junk like this to be sold.

The thread cutting gear chart on the front of the machine and in the manual calls for gears that are not included with the machine. Example: the 84 tooth gear is needed to make 4 of the nine metric threads. It doesn’t include an 84 tooth gear. No 30 tooth gear as well. Several other gears are missing. They did send gears that are not on the list at all. Good luck trying to cut threads. Also, I had to disassemble the entire machine and debur and re-finish all of the mating surfaces. ... show more
