I’m new to beekeeping and got this on a whim for my first honey gathering. I wanted to de-cap the frames to save the wax cells rather than crush and strain it. I could not have been happier. It was very easy to put together and worked like a charm. I quickly and easily processed all the frames and had the honey bottled. It was easy to clean up and I look forward to getting to use it again next time. It was nice to be able to control the speed and the gasket on the bottom did not leak at all. My only issue was the small screws that hold on the top doors would shake loose. I had to retighten them a few times. I will probably add a few drops of glue to hold them in place. Over all the unit performed as it should. I extracted honey from a couple hives this year and this made it very easy. The only issue was the tabs for the legs are not welded on very well. 2 out of 3 broke of while I was using. They were quick to replace them with a new set, nut the welds are still not well done and will probably break again. I am handy and will either reweld them of come up with a different leg system for next years harvest. Even though the feet on the legs are a issue, I still give it 4 stars due to the value and that it does what is should. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Ordered in July. I just unboxed it to spin honey from the frames I just pulled from the hives. Everything was packaged nicely. However, one of the inside lids that were zip tied to the basket was cracked. It was clearly cracked when the handle was screwed to lid. Yet they wrapped it in foam wrap and shipped it anyway. I loaded my honey frames evenly according to weight for balance (not my first rodeo). First spin revealed the basket is NOT centered and it bangs off the side in one spot (see video). The other side has a lot more space between the drum and basket. The motor Slips and is really weak at its highest speed setting. I was only spinning the small honey super frames. I'd hate to see what happens if i loaded the large frames of honey from my deeps. It takes a long time to extract honey. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!! This product is not worth the money AT ALL! Pay up...Buy a Dadant honey extractor. That's what I used to have. It's better quality and the motor can handle slinging the honey. ... show more

Work extremely well we had 35 frames to extract. I did four at a time about 7 minutes per side at max speed. no problem with vibration. Also ran a deep frame with three super frames very little vibration at 100% speed. Built a wood platform that I can tilt up up for cleaning with 2x6 pine board and 3/4 inch plywood, raised the legs up with a 3/4" x 3" x 3" board under each leg to give a little height for the strainer on the bucket. Legs bolted to the platform I built. I put 40 pounds of weight under extractor. Would recommend this extractor for a small operation. Cleanup nicely. Very impressed with this extractor. ... show more

When the box arrived it looked like it had been hit with a car. There are holes on all 4 sides and the protective Styrofoam is broken to little chunks. I expected the extractor to flattened inside but no, this thing must be made of tough stuff. Despite parts of the extractor protruding from the holes in the box, the extractor itself doesn't have a scratch, arrived with all its parts and appears to work fine. Haven't had the opportunity to run any frames through it yet but the motor spins and the speed controller works so I'm not expecting problems there. Again, this thing must be tough. ... show more

… this was a great purchase! After hand spinning for many years, I treated myself to this electric spinner. Getting older has such disadvantages, but please consider treating yourself to this product. Very easy to set up and very smooth in rotation. I love it!

The media could not be loaded. Easy to assemble, right out of the box. If I could change anything, it would be that the legs be long enough to accommodate a 5 gallon bucket without needing 2x4 shims, and that the honey gate be located at the bottom of the extractor so as to drain as much honey as possible from it so that bees don’t drown in the leftovers. (First time mistake. However, on our second harvest, trying to dismantle it to scrape down the sides and bottom while tipping the whole thing so that the honey can make its way up to the gate is quite difficult.) The motor is wonderful, it’s quiet, and it allows for a gradual ramp-up of RPMs, so things don’t get wonky like an imbalanced washing machine. All in all, I’m very pleased with this purchase!!
