I have read all the bad reviews, and I cannot believe people would write a bad review about this bee hive. I have bought 3 of these hives. One thing before buying you better have common sense about building anything out of wood.. The entire build is easy, if you know what you are doing and if you have the correct tools. First thing, I did not use the supplied nails! If you have to use the nail, I suggest NOT to buy this product. If you have to use the nails, maybe getting a nuc of bees is not the right choice for you. Granted, most people do not have an electric or air brad nail gun. If you are looking into raising bees as a hobby or to try to make a living, invest in a brad, or 1/4 18 gauge staple gun. I have built 3 of these kits, the first 2 I used an inch brad nailer. The third one I used a1/4 - 1 1/12 inch staple gun. I am sticking with the 1/4 inch air stapler. Using one of these tools, you better know how they work or you might put a staple through your finger. My last one i used 1 1/2 finishing staples for every part, even the frames. The tools I used were: Hammer, Titebond 3 wood glue, and an air staple gun. If you are building one of these kits, the Glue also works as a lubricant to hammer the dovetail joints together. I love the fact the boxes are made of cedar wood. Cedar can withstand the elements and is long lasting with out rotting. Once painted it should last for years. I defiantly plan buying more of these kits.     • Great when I bought W frames. Now theyre NOT included $$$$
This was a great product. It dovetail together and my boyfriend put it together for me with wood glue and nails. He is a carpenter and was pleased with the quality given it’s a medium quality hive. Took primer and paint well but corners tend to crack if not careful with hive tool. I’m notorious for over pressuring my hive tool on corner so I try to be aware. Most of my corners now need to be repaired before winter. These came with the unwaxed foundation and frames making this an incredibly good deal. However now they don’t include all or any of the frames. Some models have all the frames and some have none. There is currently one with a deep & med super with frames. That’s a good deal at about $159 you still have to wax the frames. Put frames together well. Don’t skimp because they will break when using a hive tool to lift them out of a sticky super. Wood glue and two nails works. Also don’t use their nails use your own or better yet a staple gun Also don’t use their nails use your own or better yet a nail gun. I keep a watch on these every time I’m on Amazon so I can grab a good deal when it comes up. Right now the one with a deep brewed box and medium super with all frames is a good deal with lots of time to put together assemble frames and paint for next year ... show more

Update: Seller contacted me and resolved the issue. 5 star customer service!! This was a great bargain, and I really needed new hive boxes and frames as my apiary grew by 4 colonies in a week. Unfortunately, I think I must have gotten a return or something. The first clue was the condition of the box, and upon opening it, I found it had no telescoping or inner cover, three of the deep frame pieces were broken, and although two packs of foundation were wrapped up, the third was loose and all over. Id return it, but the box was taped up all over the place and the corner was crushed pretty badly when it arrived, so I have nothing to package it back up in!!! The positives: I don’t mind that the frames were unwaxed, as that’s easy enough to do myself. The boxes came together well and the wood is nice and takes paint easily. The craftsmanship is good, save for the broken frame sides, and it’s as easy to put together as any other hive I’ve assembled. Now I have to buy more frames and lids, so I’m not thrilled about that. ... show more

For most part I am happy with the hive, I did find 1 part of wood split but I was able to glue and add a couple screws in it to put it together and make it work. Over all it was easy to put together and get ready for spring arrival of my bees .

The hive boxes and frames are cut so well that assembly is very easy. They are strong and sturdy boxes. The frame also go together easily, Excellent customer service and response time to questions.

I purchased two sets of these hives and I'm very pleased. Although one of the bottom boards was damaged in shipping (must have been some rough handling!) CREWORKS promptly sent out a replacement board within two days of me posting pictures of the damaged bottom board. However, the best part of this story is how well made the parts are. There are over 250 wooden parts in the two boxes I ordered and all but the one aforementioned bottom board are near perfect. You can see in the first photo how well the hive boxes fit on top of each other and how precisely the boards are cut. (Note that I use my own nails to assemble the boxes.) The second photo shows how well the frames went together. Overall, I'm very pleased with the product and especially pleased with CREWORKS customer service. I will be buying again! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Great deal and had no problems with putting together... I recommend predrilling holes for the nails put it all together in about 2 hours ... I'll be painting tomorrow
