The media could not be loaded. It was easy to put together by myself in about an hour. Just line the sides of the boxes up and tap in gently to start. Everything fit together smoothly and bees have happily moved in.

    • Nice design, wood splits easily.
Nice bee hive. Everything is waxed, it looks nice, and will function well. Assembly is a little tricky because the wood on both the box and the inner frames tends to split easily. Being careful not to over-torque the screws and hammer carefully. Pre-drilling pilot holes for the nails will prevent splitting, but will also take a lot longer. ... show more

I usually buy from Dadant but this year my package of bees was arriving sooner than I thought and my Dadant order wasn't going to arrive soon enough. I frantically ordered this one and it was shipped within a day. I am very happy with the assembly. Much easier to assemble than my hive I got last year from Dadant and I only bent one nail while putting the frames together! I love that its all already coated with beeswax. It feels very sturdy.
