I like it! Researched many options for storing my CDs & DVDs and quite pleased with this product. Two "face" boards arrived damaged, I called & emailed (w/ photos) customer service upon examining contents, and w/in hours my replacement parts were on their way. They even arrived two days earlier than was quoted. The gentleman from company was courteous and very attentive to my issue. Refreshingly fantastic service! That was a Thursday, Sunday morning the parts arrived and within less then an hour it was up and swiveling. Putting it together w/ a friend made it that more easy and dare I say, fun. Instructions were easy to follow and somewhat intuitive. Unhurriedly and methodically it came together quite nicely. Then the best part...arranging my 300 plus CDs and a couple of dozen special DVDs. And there is room for growth! It is a substantial, and handsome piece of functional furniture. It rotates smoothly and it proudly displays my collection. It may not be solid oak, with five coats of finish, yet it serves me well. The only thing better than this tower is the customer service I received. Bravo. ... show more

    • Pretty good product for the price but with suggestions
Product came well packed but somewhat heavy. All pieces present. Decent particle board with nice walnut finish-no dings or scrapes (you're not getting solid wood at this price point!). Usual cam lock hardware that locks reasonably well if you sink and align the cams carefully. Instructions also in usual pictogram style though not hard to follow as pieces (especially tops and bottoms) are well marked. Took me a little over 2 hours with half of it spent twisting in the shelf supports-more on this later. Issues noted in previous reviews did not surface for me though I understood their origin. Maybe my production lot was better tuned, especially with alignment of the shelf support holes and installing the shelves themselves. Suggestions: -I almost mistook for packing the fiberglass spinner which is a non-descript lightweight disk that I (and other reviews noted) does not engender confidence in supporting 400 (let alone 200) pounds. It bends quite easily. Instead of using it I opted for a 12" metal ball bearing lazy susan recommended by a couple of reviews (Woodpeckerscrafts on Amazon for about $10) that added about 20-30 minutes to assembly time as it required alignment, drilling 6 holes, and purchasing 6 appropriate size wood screws, and a few squirts of light lubricating oil. Spins easily and solidly and with confidence. -Patience: Turn on some enjoyable easy on the ears music, lock the kids, cats and dogs out of the room, maybe a glass of wine and sit in a comfortable arm chair and start installing the shelf supports (twist in the peg end). BUT do this BEFORE installing on the base and putting on the top. Lay the side of the column across your lap resting on the arms of the chair and have a handful of supports nearby and start twisting away. Much easier to see and align (the peg goes in easiest STRAIGHT in). Only a couple of recalcitrant pegs needed a very judicicious tap from a tap hammer, especially those going into the thinner side of the column.. A little wipe of lubricating oil on the tough to install shelf supports may also help. This is tough on your finger tips-a latex glove may help. -Install the shelves FROMthe middlle going to top and bottom; helps flex the sides a little, and make sure the edge of the shelf that fits inside the column edge is fitted first and clearly clears the edge. All in all a very reasonable handsome and functional CD tower, reasonably designed, constructed and priced with quite large storage space given relatively modest 16" base and 22" width at maximum (45 degree) spin, footprint. Now the hard part: sorting out 600 CD's to be shelved IN ORDER. Anyone remember the semi-famous scene in Barry Levinson's wonderful movie DINER, where the boy goes bonkers after his girlfriend pulls out a few record albums and fails to return them to the exact space meticulously organized by the boy! Flat pack and being made of particle board, heavy as can be. Handle with care. Packaging was very good. Plenty of supports and cushions which is good because flat back is really heavy / awkward and will get beat up in shipment. BE CAREFUL opening it and unpacking. The lazy-susan swivel or carousel is VERY thin black plastic and easily hidden amongst everything. Don't accidently throw it out or put something heavy on it and break it. Go find it early on, capture and protect it until assembly time. Assembly is easy. Screws are smallish. I highly recommend using hand tools and not any powered screwdriver due to screws being easy to strip out. Shelves sit on pegs so you will wear your hands out inserting all the pegs. Some are a TIGHT fit. Holes did line up well. DON'T bang the dowels into the base plate. They will go right through it to my chagrin. Hand set them. Although not called for, I glued them. Instructions were readable. Once I got it all done it fit all the DVDs that Mrs wanted to keep and fake-wood color selected matched rest of room decor good enough. Overall, good value for the cost and no better or worse than the present day Ikea stuff and I didn't have to drive across state to go fetch it. ... show more

I ordered the walnut shade, and it contrasts well with our hardwood floor (which is red oak). It takes a little effort to wedge in the middle row of shelves, but the assembly goes smoothly from there. At first I thought the shelves were too large, but I think the idea is to add some tension. I put felt pads on the bottom so I could slide it into place (in the room). It is quite heavy with the CDs in it. In the reviews I read, there were several complaints about the circular roller, but it works fine for me. It may help that the floor is not carpeted. Also the bottom pieces (and top piece, too) were finished on both sides, not raw particle board as one reviewer stated. Maybe they modified the design in response to the complaints. I wiped all the pieces down with a damp cloth before assembly. Overall I was very happy with the final result, it has a solid feel to it, and it seems fine for my level of use. ... show more

I have about 500 CDs and they fit perfect. I put them in alphabetic order so I only had a couple unused shelfs so I put my 4 vcrs and little totes with old cassette tapes in it. Every shelf is used and very easy to turn I would advise felt pads on the underside piece that touches the floor if you have wood floors. I filled the rack up then realized I wanted to move it. It took two men to push it to the other side of the room and did not have to lift it. The pads made is very easy and did not scratch my floors. ... show more
