I checked the size guide on the product description page, and chose the size it recommended. The Umbilical Hernia Belt fits decently, and its stretchable waistband made it more comfortable to wear. note: there is a thin material that covers part of the hook-and-loop. I removed it, before putting on the belt. The hernia pad is removable, which I like so that I can place it where it provides the best support. However, its pointed shape (right in the middle of the pad) is too small. I positioned it at a couple of different areas to try to get it to apply pressure, but not too uncomfortably. I would prefer the pointed area to be larger. The width of the belt (I measured it as 5-3/4 inches) is a bit wide for me. The user manual provides informative pictures to show how to apply the pad and belt. It also provides instructions on how to wash this (hand wash, water temperature greater or equal to 30 degrees Celsius, air dry). Overall, this belt provides decent support. ... show more

I really like this binder! The material is very soft, but it really holds things in very well. It's not too wide, not too narrow, it's just right. It is super comfortable and easy to use. However, I was concerned because I do a lot of lifting in my work and didn't want to make it worse. The doctor suggested that a wrap might help and so I decided to try this item. It is very well made, and the material is comfortable. It is a little wide for me because being short, my torso is a little shorter, but it provides the support where it is needed, which is my main objective. This Velpeau Umbilical Hernia Belt was very hard to the touch fabric that made it hard to wear and if worn too long could start easily rubbing the skin. The little round pad was even more hard and had some type of disc inside the fabric creating a lump. I did not find this hernia belt of any use.
