I went to my family doctor and since I had a small bump near my navel (near my abdomen), he told me I do have early stages of a possible hernia. He also told me about an abdominal binder and what its about. After trying this binder on my navel right over my small bump (possible hernia), I can control it and the liner puts compression on that intended area right over my bump. The compression is there (as I can feel it) but the binder is comfortable to wear based on my waist measurement. I'm impressed a narrow binder could be so powerful. I haven't worn it going to sleep (as I could do), but the binder is worn mainly when I get home from work from a manufacturing job as an assemblyman and occasional spot welder. Overall, this is great for many medical purposes but works well under compression related issues. Before using, I would talk to your doctor to see if the binder is a good fit for you. You obviously don't need a prescription to buy it, but I'd ask if its a good option for you if you need one. ... show more

    • Comfortable does a better job than I thought

I had to return this to get a smaller one, so I could get a better compression around my waist and stomach. I got this because I had groin hernia surgery so I needed support. Also, I have a stomach pooch and I read about women after pregnancy being able to make their stomach smaller by wearing this binder. Surprisingly not only is it supporting my hernia area which is very important. I do think it’s making my stomach smaller. I wish I would’ve thought of this binder years ago. And it’s not as uncomfortable to wear as I thought you get used to it and it actually feels good because you’re supported. ... show more

I have had about a dozen abdominal surgeries throughout my life and was never offered or even knew about abdominal binders. I'm currently dealing with a lot of complications from recent major abdominal surgery. I finally described to my physical therapist what I thought would help the most and she pulled this binder up to show me. It was EXACTLY what I was looking for. It's true to size. As other reviews mentioned, it's not super stretchy but it's not supposed to be. The Velcro is very strong yet easy to adjust. Haven't experienced any rolling up/down of the binder. It arrived on my 5th day of level 10 pain and I put it on immediately. It significantly helped pull me out of that unbearable pain cycle and now I'm wearing it full time except for when I sleep. It's not bulky so it's easy to wear under clothes. I think if I had this right after my surgery, my healing would have gone more quickly and without so many complications. Highly recommend to anyone who has had recent abdominal surgery or one coming up. Check with your doc first. ... show more

I needed a binder after DIEP surgery and every type I tried was uncomfortable. Most were too tall and would slide up out of position after awhile. I finally found this 6" binder that I could wear exactly where I needed it. I wore it over my clothes because the material is a little stiff, but in a good way. The velcro hold up over repeated uses, unlike other binders I had tried. Another brand's velcro failed after 2 weeks use. I've been using this one 4 weeks and it's holding strong. If it does start to shift a little, it's easier to tug it back down into place, due to its compact size. ... show more

Update: no way to contact seller for refund of returned item. Update: I returned this with shipping label I received and UPS handled shipment but on my account it doesn’t reflect I had returned it. Previous: I returned the first one okay. It was too small for the size indicated. A replacement was sent. It was way too big for size indicated. There was no size in between. I tried returning the second one and it reordered a replacement instead. I just wanted my money back since their sizes do not accommodate me for post-surgery support. I’ve been without a support for a week hoping this was the right one. Now I can’t ship it back. I’m not happy at all!!!! ... show more

    • Not true to size at ALL. I think I got a small with a large labe. Material falls apart.

This is not true to size at all or I got a small with a large tag. It would be okay if I needed it around a childs thigh. As well, to get it on it wants to stick to the fabric before you get velcro to velcro. It stuck once and it pulled the material apart.
