I purchased one of these in July 2024 and ran it in the basement of a wood construction cabin for the summer and into September. For a few months the unit ran very well, and kept the relative humidity down to reasonable levels. I make use of the drain hose so that it can continuously run (so I don't have to constantly empty the bucket). It's a relatively quiet unit, and seems energy efficient from what I can tell. When the compressor is running it pulls around 270W total (which is less than other units that I have owned in the past). In mid-September the unit stopped working properly though. It would run for about 20 minutes with the compressor on, and then switch to fan only mode indefinitely. Toggling the power would get the unit to kick the compressor back on, but it would only ever run for 20 minutes at a time. I did all of the usual troubleshooting (filter was clean, drain hose was not clogged, the unit was in continuous operation mode). I reached out to Vellgoo customer service and sent them detailed information about the issue, and Mina was my customer service contact. They stayed with me throughout the entire issue, helping to do further troubleshooting to make sure this wasn't a user error. In the end, they determined that it was a faulty component and agreed to ship me a replacement unit. I have hooked up the new unit and it seems to be working fine so far. I'll report back if the unit experiences similar issues, but hopefully this one will last me a while. I just want to say that I often find interactions with customer service organizations to be difficult. You often get someone who doesn't know the technical details, or get passed around from one person to the next. That was not the case here, I had an excellent experience with Vellgoo customer service and with Mina in particular. ... show more

We really like this dehumidifier! It is quiet, does a great job of pulling water, and has a very manageable and easy to clean water bucket - which is unlike other dehumidifiers we've had in the past. Velgoo also doubled the warranty to two years when we registered the unit, and while our first DryTank unit failed after about a year, the company stood behind their product. I worked with Mina on their customer support team who was very helpful and promptly sent us a replacement unit. The replacement unit is working perfectly. We're hoping this new unit lasts for years because in terms of performance, quietness and ease of use, the DryTank is the best dehumidifier we've ever had. ... show more

We like this dehumidifier. Our basement is very humid and this unit keeps it dry and pleasant. We have several properties and we have owned many different dehumidifiers. This unit was easy to set up and turn on. It is quiet compared to others we have owned. There is an automatic feature which shuts off the appliance when a certain low humidity percent is set. We have it sitting on a couple of blocks on the floor. I was initially concerned that vibration might cause it to roll off, but that has not happened as there is little or no vibration. ... show more

Plugged in July 28, and it worked great. Until the last week or so. Today is Oct. 4 and it is running but humidity level won't go below 57% and there is virtually no water in tank. I usually read and believe the bad reviews first. Don't know why I didn't this time, other than I had a lot going on, needed a dehumidifier and this one seemed to be the perfect one. I liked the size and weight. It was easy for me to carry to basement. I liked the smaller water tank, because it wasn't heavy when full. It was easy to empty. And it was quiet. But lasting only 2 months is totally unacceptable. I don't appreciate spending 250+ for 2 months of operation. I'm tired of getting ripped off every time I turn around... I have it unobstructed, away from a wall. The filter is not dirty. It's running...just not sensing the humidity and removing any from the room. The seller emailed me after I ordered and said to contact them if I had any problems. I'm going to contact them later today. Will report back on my results. But I'm not holding my breath for an easy resolution, because sadly that just isn't how life works anymore.... ----------- UPDATE I was unable to contact the seller, but I contacted Vellgoo at the email address in their instruction manual. They guarantee an answer within 12 hours, which is actually true. Mina is great. After a couple emails and a test of machine, they are sending me a new machine at no cost! I am so impressed, and my faith in humanity has been restored!!! I added 3 more stars, from 1 to 4, basically for the stellar customer service. Will update further if I receive the replacement and it works. Mina gets 5 stars!! UPDATE #2: They sent me a new dehumidifier, as Mina promised. It worked, but there was a problem with the float in the tank and it would not shut off when the tank was full. I had a few frustrating water wipe ups in basement. I contacted Mina and they promptly sent me a new water tank. I'm hopeful the machine will keep running and will shut off when the water tank is full. I've got to say that Mina's customer service is top notch. Always answers emails, and checks back to make sure things are going well, etc. Well done, Mina! Listen up, Vellgoo, Mina needs a raise!!! She is great. I will report back if there are any more issues, but I'm happy so far. One thing I just love, is that this dehumidifier is so quiet!! I just hope it stays working. ... show more
