This is a great slim line backpack for carrying a laptop, power cord, external mouse, notebook and a couple files. If you want to carry more than that this is probably not the bag for you. The description says it fits 14" laptop and that is what it is designed for. The listing said the height was 17", so I took a chance. Well, 17" if you measure to the top of the handle :-) The compartment to hold the computer is just over 15" so it is a tight squeeze to fit a Dell 15.6" laptop in. The strap to hold the laptop in place does not reach over the 15.6" laptop but being so tight it isn't needed, the top flap holds it tight. The side pockets will hold a slim water bottle, about the diameter of a can of soda (see pics). The shoulder straps are curved and it is easy to carry on one shoulder without constantly sliding off. A nice feature of the design is that, depending on how it is loaded, it will generally stand upright on its own without leaning it against something. The leather is a thick enough that it should last for years but not so thick as to be rigid and stiff. It is what I would call raw tanned and does not have a hard finish except on the accent straps, it is soft and supple. I gave it a couple coats of honey leather conditioner which darkened it somewhat and smoothed out the grain. After a little over a month of use it is already starting to look broken in and developing some character. Great bag if you don't need to carry large amounts of stuff. ... show more

This backpack is great, it's very stylish, and the leather is genuine. The magnets for the front pocket are convenient and it is the perfect size. The quality of the straps and the comfort of the bag when holding and carrying it around are also fantastic. The only small issue with the bag is that the main zipper does seem to get stuck. You need to practice opening and closing it. Hopefully it gets better overtime. But time will tell. But that's a small price to pay for a great bag overall. ... show more

I bought this as my work EDC but never got to use it for that as it's going back. This bag is advertised as being 16" tall so you can imagine my surprise when my 15" (which is only 13.5" wide) almost didn't fit. I had to stretch the internal velcro strap to get it to grab. So I emptied the bag and measured it. From the bottom of the bag to the top of the zippered flap was 14" dead on. When I extend the top handle all the way out I would get the advertised 16". So I don't fault the seller for being untruthful, which is why I still give it 4 stars. I just wanted to bring this to anyone else's attention where this could be a problem. Also being 6'3" with this over a single shoulder it's tiny looking and from the side my wife thought it looked like I was holding her purse. From the back view it's not as bad because the bags wide, just not very tall. ... show more

This is an exceptional quality all leather backpack bag! It even comes with a dust cover storage bag. Obviously stitched with expert care and precision. Looks and feels like a piece that would easily exceed $1000. And it smells wonderful. New trend that I am adopting, to not carry a purse to work. I am a high school teacher and a regular/nice purse is too much of a temptation to steal. This bag is so big, it could not walk away on its own without being REALLY noticed. Plenty of room for regular purse items, PLUS, a padded iPad/Notebook pocket in the interior compartment. And plenty of pockets for odds and ends. I'm really excited to carry this for a very long time. I will look forward to experience how the leather ages ... ... show more

I have had several good backpacks over the years. This one would rank in the top 2. Evading the government requires you to grab and go quickly. This backpack has plenty of places to stash your sundries, fake passports, confidential flash drives and the like. The interior is very nice and the padded compartment would easily protect a laptop or satellite guidance system. There are numerous pockets inside for your secondary weapons if you have them. The leather is soft but sturdy...like a female Russian spy. If taken care of, this pack will give you years of use...also like a female Russian spy. It may not stop a bullet but no taser will be effective. The straps fit very comfortably and after you have evaded your enemy you will laugh in luxury on the train to Busan. ... show more

Sad to have given this as a gift on Christmas to have it arrive defective. It looks very pretty, but for the price, there is no reason why the zipper should be that hard to use. I will be returning this item and spending my money elsewhere.
