The media could not be loaded. I found this to be a very helpful tool to sort out problems with wiring. This made finding a broken wire in a harness much faster and easier than with a multimeter, loose wires and alligator clips. I first used it to find a break in a wiring harness on a motorcycle which you can see in my video. I found the break in less than a minute with the tester and without pulling everything apart. When using the probe the screen turns green showing you're touching a ground. A hot wire turns it red and shows the voltage. It also has a handy feature which allows you to momentarily put voltage to the tip of the tester or ground it to check the wiring or the device. This could be really handy if you're checking trailer lights. And with the 2- 20' cables, it give you a lot of distance to reach a long distance. The led lights on the tool are nice when you're trying to see in dark spaces without having a flashlight. It will do voltage tests for AC/DC, polarity, continuity and diode tests. But for me the most useful is for finding broken wires or checking continuity over a long distance. I've spent a lot of time in the past trying to track down a broken internal wire on a harness and this will make short work of it. It takes power off the vehicle battery using alligator clips provided or the cigarette lighter plug from the kit. It has a built in breaker which resets after about 15 seconds, so if you accidentally hit the wrong polarity you won't damage the tool. But you do need to be careful if you use the probe to push power to a device. You would want to be careful around automotive computers with the probe and pushing and voltage. I even used it for an application it wasn't really designed for. I needed to trace some wires in my house walls and ceiling. Using a 12 volt power pack I was able to trace both ends of the wires for a continuity check using the V200 tester. Of course I had the breaker shut off and the wires were disconnected from their terminals before I tested. I was able to figure out which wires went where in minutes. Much quicker and easier than what I would have done in the past. It would be nice if it could be used for higher AC voltages. But overall I found it quite helpful for sorting out DC wiring on vehicles. And it can also be used for low AC voltage checks which would be helpful with automotive applications. I'm quite please with this tool and I'm sure I have friends that will want to borrow it or buy one for themselves! ... show more

    • Incredibly Multifunctional Electronic System Diagnostic Tool
The media could not be loaded. As a DIY mechanic, this tool was an amazing upgrade to the digital volt meter (DVM) I have used over the years to diagnose electrical problems. While VDIAGTOOL V200 Pro incorporates many functions of a DVM, the first thing is you never have to worry about dead or corroded batteries as it uses the power source from the vehicle it is diagnosing. In moving from a DVM to the V200 Pro, it requires some additional instruction and precautions to eliminate damage to circuits you're testing. For instance, unlike a DVM, the V200 Pro has the capability to power a circuit in order to check relays, bulbs, fuses, etc and you need to understand wiring schematics and characteristics before applying voltage to modern car circuitry. There is a nice concise manual included with the V200 Pro that gets things started and there are multiple online videos that can teach you more on the real-world operation of the tool. There are competitors in the marketplace and while many of their features are similar, the VDIAGTOOL V200 Pro is an unbeatable value for its price. Some of the other things it is capable of doing is testing relays, fuses, resistors, ohms, continuity, and something that is very helpful is the "circuit breaker finder" that is included in the kit. To note; the circuit probe runs off the vehicle's battery/power, the circuit breaker finder is shipped with and requires one, long-lasting 9V battery. While I have not had any broken circuits to repair since I purchased the V200 Pro, I tested the circuit breaker finder and found it to be quite helpful finding a circuit within a wiring loom. My test was on the headlight of my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I used the circuit breaker finder to track the wiring from the fuse box all the way to the headlight. This was beneficial as the main wiring loom breaks down into several smaller looms around and behind parts and structural pieces. The circuit breaker finder made it easy to trace all the way to the headlight. There is a volume control on the circuit breaker finder to help squelch "noise" from competing sources. The VDIAGTOOL V200 Pro comes with an approximately 16' long cable that easily reaches most vehicle's battery, and if you're servicing a big RV or trailer of any kind, it comes with an extension that is about 16' feet in length that should take of 99% of diagnostic situations you'll find yourself with. In addition to alligator type clips for the battery, there is a cigarette lighter plug that can be used for power as well which add to your accessibility. Overall, the VDIAGTOOL V200 Pro is a very capable electrical diagnostic tool and is rated for systems ranging from 12V to 24V. Each time I use the tool, I continue to learn more about it and with it's capable of. The VDIAGTOOL V200 Pro 2-in-1 kit is an extremely versatile tool that combines multiple testing and troubleshooting equipment into one. It includes a multimeter, test light, flash light, signal tracker and power probe. The tool performed so well coming with long cables, allowing for work to be done far away from the car battery. It also includes a long extension cable with cigarette lighter adapter, providing solid power and ground anywhere around the vehicle. The power probe can reliably test fuses and relays among many other components, and it also has A/C testing capabilities with graphing. It can test diodes voltage bias and has a removable tip that accepts any banana clip lead. Additionally, it has a rudimentary oscilloscope function for testing electronically controlled parts. The circuit breaker finder tool has signal tracking capabilities and a long flexible probe for tight areas. However, it is worth mentioning that the signal tracking is only able to locate open circuits and not short to ground. Despite this limitation, the tool offers great value for its price and is a useful addition for both professional automotive diagnosticians and DIY enthusiasts.
