The Transmitter is connected to the electrical outlet or fixture in the circuit while the receiver is used to scan the breakers in the circuit panel. The Transmitter also features a GFCI outlet tester.     • Must Have for Home Electrical Work

I replace my own fans, lights, and outlets. I don't do electrical work often, so when I do I often have to try 2-3 circuit breakers as the labeling is pretty bad. This lets me pinpoint the proper switch the first try. So no more fire alarms beeping or resetting clocks because I turned off the wrong breaker. Also, the piece that plugs into the wall lights up. When you shut off the correct breaker, the light goes off so you know for sure you got the right one. Still use a voltage detector to be 100% certain, but this gets you to where you feel "certain." I put that in quotes because one mistake with electricity means lights out for human beings. If those kinds of annoyances don't bother you, you don't need this. If they do or you just want an easier way to be sure you've got the correct breaker, this is a great tool set. ... show more
