  • Works well
Style: Fine Size: Double Induction Burner
Instead of P1 thru P9 I would prefer fahrenheit. It already has Celsius. It works really well. I'm very happy with my purchase.

  • A nice induction top
Style: Fine Size: Double Induction Burner
The fan and innards are a bit more noisy than others, though I believe that will disappear after mounting it in a counter top. It heats quickly and the touch response seems flawless so far.

  • Now you're cooking with gas
Style: Fine Size: Single Induction Burner
I grew up with electric cooktops all my life. They were clean, and didn't have the gas smell that older gas cooktops had. Gas ranges are bad for your indoor environment, as youj accumulate the combustion byproducts. Their biggest drawbacks were poor temperature control and residual heat. I eventually got a gas range and learned to appreciate the finer heat control and immediate drop in heat as soon as the flame was extinguished. My workplace cafeteria didn't have a conventional cooktop. They used induction cooking units. And I learned about the benefits. Induction cooktops are very easy to clean. Unlike conventional flat top electrics, the induction cooktop doesn't get hot. The inductive current heats the pot, not the surface, and while the surface does get heat transfer from the pot, the surrounding area stays cool, and any food that drips onto it is easy to clean off. The top is ceramic glass like a commercial flat electric cooktop. Induction cookers are efficient. The current goes to generating heat, not light, and the heat is transferred to the food without the wasted power of the less efficient ceramic (calrod) and resistive elements. There are no byproducts of combustion, so your kitchen air stays clean. No combustible gases are involved, increasing your safety and of course eliminating the need for a gas supply. The VBGK Induction Cooktop is easy to use. It plugs into a standard 120 v. electrical outlet and has a digital display to indicate the settings you've selected. Touch sensitive controls allow you to set the power level and cook time. Power levels can be set between 200W to 1800W, which correspond to temperatures of 176°F to 518°F. Because it is light and plugs into a standard electrical outlet, the VBGK Induction Cooktop is portable and can be used outside or at the table. You do need to use cookware that's compatible with induction cooking. It will report an error E1 if you use pots that aren't compatible, which entails having enough ferrous metal in the bottom. My high end stainless steel Revere pots and pans have heavy tri-metal bottoms, and don't work, but my Caphalon cookware is designed to work with inductive cookers and is perfect for it. Keep in mind that you might have to get some new pots and pans if yours aren't already compatible. The electric current is instantaneous, so the heat starts up fast and ends when you tell it to, and the only residual heat is in your cookware, not the cooktop. It has all the benefits of cooking with gas, but is much cleaner, and far better for your inside environment. ... show more

  • Stopped working after 6 weeks
Style: Fine Size: Single Induction Burner
Bought this based on high customer ratings. I got a lemon. Stopped working after 6 weeks, outside of 30 day window for replacement or return. So my loss I guess.

  • Excellent Cooktop That Allows You Great Control of Heat
Style: Fine Size: Single Induction Burner
Induction cooking has a lot of things going for it. Take any pot that is magnetic (a small magnet is included so you can test your cookware) and it will heat anything in that pot quickly and efficiently. Instead of a resistance heater that heats up like an incandescent lightbulb, this method uses magnetism to heat the pot which then heats the contents of the pot. Unfortunately, that means that you can’t use glass or aluminum cookware. Even some stainless steels are not magnetic and wouldn’t be able to be used (my favorite pot is an example!). There are some amazing advantages in using this induction cooktop. It heats things very quickly. The heat goes into the heating of the pot rather than you. This cooktop allows you to control the temperature that you wish your cooking to be at. There are options for nine different pre-sets from 170 degrees to 518 degrees F (for frying) and everything in between. You can also set the power level used from 200W to 1,800W. Best yet, this will be fine with a 15 Amp circuit in your kitchen (though you’d have to be careful about what else you’re running on the circuit). I like how quickly this heats up, but also how quickly it stops heating. Turn off the power and it stops, bang, not like an electric stove. The surface of the cooktop doesn’t heat up like a standard gas or electric unit. It will still get hot, but that’s only because it’s had a hot pot sitting on it, not because it’s been heating anything. That makes it a lot safer with kids around. Also, if you turn it on without a correct pot on it nothing much will happen (other than it protesting with some beeps and an “EO” message). As soon as you put a correct pot on, the beeping and error message will go away. If you start cooking something but forget about it and boil a pot dry the cooktop will shut off automatically. It does make some noises when cooking, but nothing that would bother you once you know that’s what it normally sounds like. The digital controls and pressure sensitive buttons are another feature that makes this easy to control. The size of this also makes it easy to put away when you don’t want to use it. The directions that some with the cooktop are the kind of directions that any five-year-old can use to operate the machine. If you’re not five-years-old you’ll probably find that just experimenting with using it will work better for you. I worried a bit about using an induction stove if you have a pacemaker, but after research found out that if you’ve had a pacemaker installed less than 30 years ago there’s no problems with using this. ... show more

First when I turned on, I hated the noise that came from the interior, but it works great at heating. It's easy to set the temperature, easy to manage and easy to clean. Wh orth the value. ****The 4 stars are because of the noise. So far, Good product! I will update my review if necessary. ***UPDATE!!! The child lock never worked. I looked for YouTube videos but I just wasted my time. I had to return it and order a replacement because I really liked it I hope this time the top burner works properly. ... show more
