I purchased the Prism Flash about a month ago and have been playing with it a ton. So far, it’s proven to be a highly performing control paddle, with a light swing weight and very comfortable factory grip. The extended grip feels especially nice for hitting two-handed backhands. I haven’t noticed any damage or drop in paddle performance, and the spin is still very high after consistently using a carbon fiber eraser. The included paddle cover is also a very nice bonus. As my first enthusiast paddle, an upgrade from a cheap fiberglass set we got from our friend, I think Vatic paddles go beyond expectations for under $100. It plays as good if not better than $200+ paddles I’ve tried side by side. The carbon face texture is the same as some of the best on the market. Most importantly great performance for someone trying to improve their game. It gives much better control with baseline drives. Absorbs volleys and provides nice touch around the net. The injected foam does a nice job dampening vibration while still keeping the pop. This is not a power paddle, but rather moderate power and good control. Amazing paddle, like the online reviews say it’s a $100 paddle but plays like the $300 paddles. I’ve been using it for a little over a month and it plays like brand new every time, if you get a rubber grip cleaner to clean off the carbon fiber face. The speed is great, lots of spin, but also very soft touches when you need them. I will start by saying I did go with a different paddle then this one. This is a good starter paddle for the money. I tested it out quite a bit before deciding to get a selkirk paddle, which has a longer warranty. I did not find any obvious dead spots in the paddle. It had adequate grit and balance. Im started playing pickleball 2 months ago and love this paddle so far. It’s great value for the price. Creates decent spin and has good touch/control ability. It does lack some pop and power compared to others but I can create it myself. It has a slightly longer handle than normal which helps if you want to use 2 hand backhand or create more lag for speed. I use this paddle for dinking, resets and third shot drops. Excellent spin on serves and drives. Not the most powerful paddle out there, but there's a trade-off, power vs. control. Anyone can swing hard; touch is harder to develop. The carbon fiber face will wear over time, reducing the amount of spin it can generate from outstanding to merely good. To be fair, this applies to any carbon fiber paddle, including ones that are double or triple the price of the Prism. I got this paddle off Amazon after reading review after review on Reddit praising this as the best paddle under $100 (and even one of the best paddles regardless of price) and they were all right. This paddle just feels great to hit the ball with, and you can really aim it where you want it to go. The sound and satisfaction is just right for me. Especially for those with a tennis background and a tendency to swing hard for drives or slams, this is a great one to not smack it past the fences. The counter side is that if you have a weaker swing, this probably won't be the right fit as it doesn't have a ton of innate power. As you get to more advanced pickleball you might find the soft game is more valuable - and in that case this is a great paddle too.
