I bought these for a trip where I knew I would have to get to bed early since I would be working 3 days a week from my regular time zone which was 6 hr ahead of where I went. The bedroom had 3 big windows on one side and 2 on the other. I put these up on 2 of the 3 windows that the sun hit during the late afternoon. Not only did these darken the room well, they also help to keep the heat out. Easy to cut to the size needed. They are thick and durable. I was there a month and didn't have any issue with them falling. I cleaned the window well and used alcohol pads to wipe any access moisture off the window before securing. They will probably still be up when I go back in Nov. I plan to use these in my bedroom at home to keep the heat out. ... show more

    • Buy your own velcro strips.

Very good at keeping out the light and the heat. And it's easy to cut. The only downside is the velcro is not very strong and they don't provide enough for you to cover a window. I tried using there and just didn't workout. I had to purchase more velcro strips for a better seal. Other than that very good product. ... show more

Shocked at how well this worked out. Was extremely apprehensive but this is exactly as pictures and portrayed. I have some large rectangular windows that let in lots of sunlight in the wee hours of the morning. Was able to measure and cut accordingly. Applying the Velcro was easy. Once it was up I put extra Velcro so I could fold it up during the day. Works like a charm. I have lots of material left over and will probably do kids room as well. ... show more

    • Some problems with adhesive

This product comes with a generous amount of fabric for the price. It is relatively easy to trim to sizes needed. Household scissors will do the job with any difficulty. I was able to cover three medium size bedroom windows, approximately 4w x 4.5w feet, with one package and still had a small piece remaining that could have covered another small window. The package comes with plenty of Velcro with a 3M adhesive side on each part of the Velcro. Getting the two part to adhear and stay on the window frame and fabric was the challenge. I recommend using something to clean the surfaces prior to applying the Velcro. Even then my coverings fell down multiple times because the adhesive just did not stick. Eventually after recleaning, reappling several times for each window, using more points of contact at the top for windows that received more direct sunlight and stapling one side of the Velcro to the fabric was I able to finally get them to stay in place. Kind of a lot of work in the short term but they do black out a room pretty well if cut properly. ... show more
