Features

  • The most simple feature you never knew you needed: Integrated bungee with a pull tab attached below the neoprene sleeve keeps your tie downs organized when not in use and helps to keep excess strap contained so it does not flap against your car while driving.
  • Oversized easy thread neoprene covered stainless steel cam buckles with neoprene cam covers. Contoured neoprene cam cover ensures protection yet gives you access to the cam lever so you can still access the lever press.
  • Superman strong nylon webbing that is guaranteed not to stretch. Can carry everything including the kitchen sink: Lumber, wood, paddleboards, kayaks, ladders or anything you need to secure to your car. The VAMO deluxe tie down will do it all.
  • Convenient mesh storage bag with zipper included to easily store your tie downs and keep them organized and dry in your trunk.
  • LIFETIME GUARANTEE and replacement on failure due to manufacturers defects.

  • Excellent straps; preferred over Thule
We were pretty surprised at the VAMO tie-downs. I hate ratchet tie-downs because I am Hobbit short, and anyone who is short knows that standing on your tippy-toes to fiddle with a multi-strap tie down assembly in blazing heat when you've been on the water for four hours is rough. I have always used Thule brand cam-buckle straps because it's what I knew first, and it worked. When our Thule straps went missing I balked at buying them again because they're crazy expensive. I found these and we were really happy to see that these are essentially the exact same thing. Even better, VAMO has improved Thule's buckle cover. I prefer the buckle cover on the VAMO straps because it's not as bulky. I was always worried the buckle cover on the Thule strap would push against the cam-buckle and loosen the straps. These VAMO straps are just as wide as the Thule straps, also. We bought four straps because they're so economical, and we are able to use two on each of our kayaks to tie them down to our car roof. Also, I appreciate the extra length on these. Best of all, there is an "extra length" dohicky that you can wrap your strap ends into. With the Thule straps I had to put them inside the car or they'd thwap against the sides of the car, and when they're inside the car they wick water into the vehicle, which is less than fun. These are great straps, and I'll probably buy more just to have on hand. ... show more

  • Easy to use and storage bag is great!
I watched a Youtube video on how to install the SUP roof straps, and these could not be easier to use. They are sturdy and the rubber coated grippers and clamps protect my board. As someone who has never used a product like this before, I highly recommend these straps. The other bonus is the elastic band attached to the straps for storing the extra strap or during storage. The only think I noticed is that the dark color of the nylon bleeds onto my board during transport, so I have strap marks on my board. This doesn't bother me, but it might bother some. ... show more

  • A quality, easy to use SUP cross bar cover
These seem to be well made and built to last. Fitted nicely on my 2005 Forester’s Cross Bars. At least 30” of Velcro keeps them snug and in place. Use these on ovoid or elliptical cross bars, not on square or round ones.

  • MARINE GRADE!
Fantastic product! The webbing is strong and durable with minimal signs of wear after many miles and uses hauling my Kayaks, pressure treated rough timber, appliances, furniture and anything else thrown at them as they are readily stored in my vehicle with the handy and hardwearing included pouch. I am most impressed with the marine grade stainless steel used for the buckle as it has weathered at least 10 weeks collectively over these few years in the brutal OBX saltwater environment with absolutely NO RUST or corrosion. Minus 1 star due to the propaganda over the installed storage bungee on the otherwise heavy-duty protective pad, it hasn't held up to my abuse. But it's merely incidental, I have purchase these multiple times and will purchase again if I need more. The buckle on their other Premium No Scratch model is inferior, Stick with this offering. They Hold UP! ... show more

Easy to travel with and easy to use in a pinch. Put them in your surf bag just in case your airport transfer van doesn’t have a surf rack!!

  • Hefty Straps, High Quality, Matches the quality of leading strap companies
I'm still using the THU... straps from our original kayak purchase in 2003. The THU straps almost need retiring. Meanwhile, the VAMO SUP straps' webbing is the best in the industry. The added bungee for tieing down the extra strapping is my favorite part. Only con about the VAMOs is that the protective buckle cover doesn't completely shield all of the buckle. Beware of your car's paint. DON'T SLING THE STRAPS AROUND. Customer Service is immediately responsive with questions or concerns. I highly recommend both the company and these VAMO straps.
