  • Does the job well, great for the money
Bought the Valor CC-4 for my home gym. It's sturdy and relatively easy to put together (took me about 90 minutes moving slowly). I find the range of motion excellent for hamstring curls and decent for quad extensions. I'm 5'10", 165 lb with relatively long arms and legs and feel the comfort is great. As identified in other reviews, you do have to insert the thigh constraint after sitting down and remove before getting back up, but I don't find this to be an issue given the relative quality otherwise, and considering it's for a home gym. It definitely needs an olympic adapter if you have olympic plates, as they will bang around otherwise. Wish I'd seen reference to this before buying. Overall, it's a huge step up from the ham and quad attachments that frequently come with a flat bench. ... show more

  • It was easy to assemble
It arrived today. It was easy to assemble. Looks really nice. I tried it out and it is very smooth. I'm 5'9" and it fits me nicely. The backrest isn't fully extended so there's room for someone much taller. It seems pretty sturdy. I will only be using it for curls because I have another machine for extensions. The price was an additional factor for my 5 star rating. I did notice the amateur welding, but maybe I'm picky. I would recommend it at this point. AFTER USING FOR SOMETIME NOW. Leg roller pad doesnt roll because I've compressed the pad, now it caused a blister above the back of my ankle. Gonna try and find a more rigid pad i can slip over the roller bar. But still love the machine. UPDATE. 2 small foam rollers fixed the roller issue. Works great ... show more

  • Good Residential Machine
We have slowly been adding equipment to our home gym, carefully researching each piece of equipment - nothing has been purchased on a whim. Currently, we have a treadmill, rowing machine, vibration platform, step platform/bench combo, indoor bike trainer and various types of weights, bands, ropes, etc. After having bilateral ankle ligament and tendon repair combined with anterior and lateral fasciotomies (a total of 6 procedures on each leg) this fall/winter (2023), I knew a leg machine would be invaluable to speed up my recovery. After careful research of a few different manufacturers, we decided to purchase this one by Valor. We have used it extensively, nearly every day, and we are very pleased with it! I am 5'1 and my husband is 5'11. ASSEMBLY: My husband put this together in less than hour. All parts were in the box and nothing was damaged. Zero problems. COMFORT: The leg pads that rest on the legs provide adequate cushion for both of us. The seat and backrest are adequate and can be adjusted to fit. Zero problems. FUNCTIONALITY/DESIGN: a) Range of motion: We are both able to achieve an acceptable degree of range of motion for both the extensions and curls. b) Adjustment areas: ---Leg bar: The overall design at the front of the machine could be better, particularly for the removable bar that goes in between the legs, to make it easier to get on and off the machine. And the metal bar under the front of the seat that extends down to the floor also complicates things, but this is just a minor inconvenience and perhaps Valor will change it in the future. The knob used to raise and lower the bar works fine. ---Back rest: The knob to move forward and backward works fine. We adjust this frequently, as my husband sits back all the way, while I sit forward all the way. -Seat pad: This is simple to move up and down. However, we found a position that works great for both of us so we do not need to adjust this anymore. ---Positioning for use: Pulling the pins/bars to change between extensions and curls is simple. c) Pad placement: Because the backrest and seat pad can be adjusted to accommodate for different heights, we are both satisfied with where the pads rest on our legs. Others have commented that this unit does not work well for people over 5'9. As mentioned above, my husband is 5'11 and it works fine for him as long as he makes the necessary adjustments before he uses it. d) Sturdiness: This unit is adequately sturdy (for us). But we are not powerlifting hundreds of pounds either. If a person wants a machine for really heavy lifting, then they should consider a commercial machine that is intended for that particular 'type' of use. A floor mat underneath the machine can help enhance overall sturdiness. FINAL THOUGHTS: Keep your expectations realistic. This is NOT a commercial machine found in a gym, costing thousands of dollars. This machine is $500 and intended for light home use. With that said, the quality meets our expectations. I rated this as 4 star because the design at the front of the unit (described above) could be better, but really is just a minor inconvenience. ... show more

  • Great value and durable.
Sturdy and durable with average difficulty in assembly. Foam is tough enough. Size is right for me. A great value for the price. Professional grade.

  • Great addition to my home gym!!
This leg machine is outstanding. I will say up front that it requires quite a bit of assembly. It took me about an hour to put it together but it wasn't too painful. I must admit, it is an awesome little machine. Me and my wife both use it and have been able to get thorough work outs for the quads and hamstrings. It is quite compact, yet accommodating for a guy at a height of 6 feet and a gal at 5 foot 4. The base is sure, sturdy and safe and the construction leaves no doubt that the machine will serve for many good years. I would definitely recommend this machine as it would surely compliment any fitness facility or home gym. ... show more
