There were ordered to contain dry cat food, cat treats and dog treats. The bags these treats and food come in are decent, zip-lock bags. However these bags are very difficult for my arthritic hands to open and seal. I figured these containers would make it much easier, and they do. One small drawback is with the largest one. The lid must be precisely placed on the container in order to snap shut. Even a millimeter off and one side will not snap shut. Not a big problem... I just slow down and place the lid exactly and snap it shut. They feel very sturdy and long-lasting. Addendum: After using these for pet treats for 2 days, they are NOT airtight. This morning, the 3 used containers are full of ANTS! They got into the "sealed" containers. Back to the drawing board, for my arthritis and pet treats. I got these for my parents. I was always leaving their house with Cool Whip or sour cream tubs as Tupperware to go. I decided to get these so that when I take leftovers home, I don’t confuse them in my fridge for sour cream or cottage cheese. These were great, good quality, dishwasher safe except for lids apparently. Only one thing that I really dislike about these is that the tubs do not stack inside of each other they take up a ton of space in the cabinet otherwise great bla free all that. ... show more

These are great containers, but as other posters have echoed, the lids are a nigh mere to deal with until you figure out how to line them up perfectly to get them to close. Overall, a solid product, food stays fresh, not sure about water proof as I haven't had any need to find that out.
