The containers come with a set of black sticky labels and a pen. The labels wipe off with a damp rag so that you can change what is on them. I'm an herbalist and tea maker. I've been in the process of converting my storage containers and found this system is one of the best out there. The selling point, for me, is that all the lids are the same size and provide an airtight seal on the various containers. In addition, this company offers various sets using the same style lids so you're not stuck with a bunch of container sizes you might not need; in my case, I don't have a need for the extra large containers for my apothecary, but I do make use of them in my pantry for dried goods.
