  • Nice features and good functioning scope
Size: 4-16x44mm Color: Black
This is an affordable but functional optic option. UTG glass is clear and the controls work great. UTG/Leapers has been in business a number of years and has been improving their product line with time. While this is an import spec optic, it has been manufactured to UTG engineering standards and is just a well built solid optic. I have not compared this to the newer OP3 that UTG has but I'm sure the newer optic builds upon this solid platform. I went with the long version rather than the compact version, simply because I thought it looked better on the airgun I was installing it on. The compact does weigh a couple ounces less but not enough to make a difference for my application. I would buy this optic again for other applications. ... show more

  • Good for the price
Size: 4-16x44mm Color: Black
Has been to the range 3 times since I've ordered this scope from Amazon. It has seen 200 168gr Federal Matchkings .308 win rounds so far out of my Remington 700. And you know what? I'm actually surprised its still holding zero. Build quality is pretty good for a scope of this price range, it doesn't feel cheap as some other scopes in this price bracket. The included rings and flip caps were a nice touch, and worked well so far without any problems, ring cleared my Heavy contour barrel without any issues. The multi-colored reticle was interesting at first, and your friends will oohh and ahhh. But in all honesty, you'll probably stick to the red and green. Still nice to have an illumination option for a scope that is this affordable though. And I loved the mil adjustments for windage and elevation as they have a nice click to them. Just keep in mind you need to unscrew 2 lock a bit " with the include allen wrench" to adjust them. I think this is one of the reasons why its able to hold its zero so well. Could be a pro or a con depends on how you look at it. Any other downsides? Well, the eye relief is what I was expecting from a scope in this price range, which is about 2-4 inches. Which isn't bad by any means, but I had to readjust my cheek rest to get a decent sight picture. Which did put my eyes a little too close to the scope for comfort, considering I grew accustomed to my Nikon Buckmasters. Doesn't let in as much light as my Nikon either, not a huge difference, but you can tell the UTG is darker side by side. Also keep in mind that 4x-6x is great for shouldering, use any levels above those and you really should be in a prone position, or have some sort of bipod to get a clear sight picture. Lastly, this could be my astigmatism, but once the reticle was illuminated, the mil-dots were much harder to see. You can still make them out, but a definite increase in effort is used. I think its a great entry level scope, and is a step up from others in its price range. Great for finishing up a build or if this is to be a paper hunting range plinker. ... show more

  • Good PCP gun scope for the price
Size: 30 Medium Color: Black
First new scope in 40 years. Put on Benjamin Marauder .25 PCP. Working great. Really like the side AO adjust (bought the little wheel, works well and looks interesting). The multi-color internal illuminator does not do much for me, but did not seem to drive price. You'll need medium height mounts. Might get away with low if you don't use the end caps, but with them, you'll need medium. Ended up returning first scope because cross hairs were not perpendicular, maybe 5 degrees off. Return/replacement was no problem. Second one is also off but only slightly, maybe just under 1 degree. I don't like it but it is fine for my skill level and expectations. I am mostly plinking cans and shooting squirrels, and it lets me do that at 50-75 yards without trying very hard. Optics seem great for the price point, as in, this is probably the best you are going to get for ~$100. If you've used the high end stuff this will seem a little inferior, but that stuff costs 4-5 times more. If you've not used a scope in awhile or are new to them, this will seem amazing. ... show more

  • Amazing scope value
Size: 30 Medium Color: Black
I wasn't sure what to expect from this scope but was instantly impressed when I got ahold of it. It's VERY sturdy and absolutely NOTHING feels at all cheap about it. I mounted it to a Marlin 60 and took it to the range. 4 shots and I had it zeroed. I've since fired in excess of 1000 rounds and only adjusted it due to ammo changes which was easy because of the return to zero turrets. After I was done with that ammo I simply returned to turrets to zero and with the regular ammo I shoot was back on the bull. The illumination is great as well. While I have no need for all the colors, I've found in addition to the red and green, blue and teal? are probably my favs. The flip up sunshades are well built too. The snap open and closed firmly and stay put. A simple flip of your thumb and the spring loaded caps flip up. I have nothing negative to say about it! It's not small by any means or light but that's pretty easy to tell from looking at it. If you're hesitant because it's not the most $$ scope out there, don't be! I'm shocked it is so cheap after owning it. I'd easily pay 50% more or even 2X and still be happy. ******UPDATE***** I've now had this scope for over two years. It has switched between 3-4 different rifles of varying power and the UTG scope has continued to do the job. In the two years I've had this scope I've purchased a handful of other scopes, mostly mid-high end costing between $500 to $1200. Is the UTG as nice as the way more expensive scopes? Of course not BUT it is still a nice scope for a limited budget. It's fairly clear, magnifies the target and holds its zero which is pretty much all you should expect from a budget priced optic.. ... show more
