  • DO NOT BUY!! Faulty Product w/HORRIBLE Customer Service!!
Color: Black Pattern Name: ATN ThOR 4 1.25-5x
Let me start by stating that I am not the type of person to leave reviews (especially bad ones). This $2600 scope and ATN have been a nightmare to work with so I feel as though I have no choice than to warn my fellow firearm enthusiasts/hunters. I called ATN before I bought the scope due to hearing rumors that SCAR 17s rifles are hard on optics. They reassured me over and over again that my rifle would not be an issue and even went so far as to say that they put this scope on Barrett .50 cal rifles and it functions flawlessly. So, I bought the scope with full confidence knowing that my rifle would not be an issue. I definitely received a faulty scope. I put this on a SCAR 17s .308 caliber rifle and within less than 100 rounds with it mounted with the ATN quick detach $100 mount (crappy and cheaply made quick-detach function) it began to have issues. First, the screen would flash white and fail to recover the image for approx. 1 min. Performing a NUC would not fix this, nor would a factory reset, or would any other ATN recommendation. Of course, I made sure I was using the latest firmware and so on. Then, after approx. 80 rounds, dead pixels began to appear in several places on the display. These dead pixels would not resolve using any resets or by using the manual pixel correction. I called ATN as soon as I had time to (I'm an RN and my job keeps me very busy). And they agreed after an hour of troubleshooting that I must have a faulty scope. So, I sent the scope back to ATN. They kept it for an entire month without any correspondence in between. If you try to call them, you will be stuck on hold for at least an hour and then you may or may not get to speak to someone. Eventually, it prompts you to leave a message that nobody is going to respond to. After a month passes, I receive the scope back without any warning. You have to be home to sign for the scope or they will not deliver it to you. Luckily, I was home to sign for it on my day off and it didn’t become an issue. I turned on the scope and immediately noticed that the same deal pixels were still dead. The scope then performed a NUC and the pixels were alleviated. This happens now every time the scope is powered on - dead pixels until an auto NUC – then no dead pixels. For $2600 I expect perfect pixels all the time, especially after it was serviced for an entire month. I find it unacceptable that ATN just patched over the issue. Anyway, I took the scope out to some private property in Texas and attempted to sight it in. After about 200 rounds of .308 180 grain Winchester, the scope began displaying double vision and would not reset. It became completely unusable. Again, after trouble shooting with ATN it was decided that it would have to go back to them to be serviced again. I told ATN that I would just like my money back and a full refund. After a couple weeks of giving me the run around via Email, account manager Kelley Mullen among others finally tell me that I can return it. She then tells me that a FedEx return label was created and will be sent to me shortly. After two days of no FedEx label, I send her ANOTHER email to which she had completely ignored. That was weeks ago from today. She has now stopped replying to all my emails and it's damn near impossible to reach someone via phone. It seems as though ATN is giving me the run around so that I’ll just give up and they won’t have to refund my money. The whole process has been extremely frustrating and is ridiculous considering the scope costed $2600. I will get my money back even I have to take the legal route. DO NOT BUY FROM ATN!! Horrible product and the worst customer service I have ever experienced from an overpriced product. Do your research, you’ll find others with the same complaints. Update: Amazon told me I was S.O.L. due to passing the return window. I explained to them that I was a nurse working crazy hours during a pandemic, and they told me there was nothing they could do. I explained to them that I was unable to get a hold of ATN and they told me my only option was to CALL ATN. I asked if they could hold ATN accountable or reach out to them due to the fact that they use Amazon to sell their products, but Amazon said no. Great way to treat a loyal customer! ... show more

  • Truly Usable Thermal Sighting with Legit Features
Color: Black Pattern Name: Thermal Rifle Scope and sensor
We been using the ATN X-Sight 4K for about 7 months now which is a day/night scope with IR for night. Using it along with nvg's and ir aiming lasers, we have been pretty successful eliminating nuisance opportunistic predatory members of the canine family and feral hogs. We added a thermal monocular and to aid in locating in cover which blocks IR. Been contemplating thermal scopes for quite some time and have tested a few out. We decided to go with ATN Thor series because the price is unbeatable for the quality of the ATN products. The interface is easy to use and very intuitive with ranging, built in ballistics, etc. And since we had the IR XSite HD already, we were familiar with the onboard features and navigation. It's truly one shot zero. After mounting and doing a quick bore sight we were able to put the host in a vise, punch a hole and adjust the reticle to the point of impact. Of course we did some more testing before going into the field, but the scope required no more adjustment. Not having a thermal sight compatible target we simply used a small hardware, busted it open and taped it to a decent sized piece of cardboard on our farm range. The hardware provided an adequate target with the thermal contrast between the cardboard. Looking forward to the battery life in the field although we added the ATN battery backup and upgraded to a decent QD mount. Make sure whatever mount you use is low and as close to the bore axis as possible and that the scope when fully mounted is level, without casting and inline with the bore. Most issue I've heard people complain about were addressed and fixed by remounting the device with these things in mind because it's much different than a variable power traditinal optical scope. We are very satisfied so far and obviously with the X-Site HD IR scope. It is nice not needing an illuminator for the thermal version. Although we rarely use the features, the photo and video capabilities are nice to have onboard with the recoil activated recording. The Obsidian app connected via wifi to the scope allows your partners to see exactly what you seen through the scope and it also gives you access to the settings and gallery without actually being on the scope looking through the diopter. ... show more

  • ATN Thor 4
Color: Black Pattern Name: Thermal Rifle Scope and sensor
I bought my thermal scope to coyote hunt with. ATN makes an awesome product. It was after I bought my scope that I done my research. Researching I realized I was lucky to have picked their scope. My only down side to anything was the set up instructions pertaining to firmware updates. To me they weren’t very clear. There were a couple gray areas for me but support was there to clear up what I didn’t understand. They weren’t very informative and professional throughout the process. I highly recommend their products and customer service. ... show more

  • Game changer at 25 yds or less
Color: Black Pattern Name: Thermal Rifle Scope and sensor
Pros: Packaging and delivery was outstanding and the setup was an ease. The scope looks and feel of quality but I have to return as I would prefer the higher magnification. Clarity on the 1.25*5 is outstanding if you do not zoom in at which point the image becomes granular or pixalated. The scope is heavy if being mounted on a smaller framed rifle. It's almost twice the weight of my Nikkon Buckmaster scope. The SD and charging port caps can do with some re-engineering as the are not the easiest to close and for the price of the item you would think a better design should follow. Comes with 3 scope rings, worked perfect on my picatinny rails. Two vertical and one extended. Cons: Could not get the firmware to upgrade. Tried with several SD cards and still no luck. As a result most of the functionality, photo capture or video was not possible. My screen display came with a dot but for the price of $1800 I'd expect more QC on the products shipped out. All in all very good product and can't wait to get the higher zoom item. ... show more
